This is a cable for USB 2.0 connection (most widely used from 2000 to 2008).I kept trying to connect my SanDisk M240 mp3 player to my computers with this cable with no luck or any reaction from either device until I found out that the cable had not been plugged deeply enough into the mp3 player's USB slot to register. When I pushed down on the cable and it was seated deeply into the slot, then both computers registered the connection to the mp3 player and it worked perfectly. So be careful that the cable is well connected before use and it will function.I'm satisfied with this cable and glad that it works well with older USB 2.0 devices as expected.
