Nicely built, does the job
I have a couple of watches whose backs are snap-on but not the kind you can do just with manual pressure alone, and believe me, I've tried improvising all kinds of ways to do it. However, after looking around, some of these machines aren't as expensive as I imagined, so then it was a matter of finding something that, while at the cheaper end, wasn't going to fall apart. I didn't want to spend too much on something I'm only going to use now and then and it had to have a bit of heft. This press is solid, the dies screw on very nicely, and once you have the right size dies in place, one press and your case back is on. Surprisingly well-made overall, certainly suits me for the occasional job and at this price it's value for money. Comes with a set of dies that would fit most watch sizes.

A great addition to my new watch repair kit!
I have just started trying to repair my own watches and by that, I mean... change the batteries. Well, you have to start somewhere and this feels like a good place to start because I have three watches that need new batteries and it would cost me £19.99 per watch, to have Timpsons repair it. So, I am starting here and learning to do this myself.I had most things in a little set that I bought from Amazon. but what I have found I was lacking was this. With some watches, you just cannot get the back back on. case in point, my wife's Ice Watch. I did some research online and found that what I was lacking was an item like this to press the case cover back on carefully. I ordered it the other day, it arrived very quickly. it seems sturdy and has lots of accessories to fit different watch sizes etc and I have just used it to finish my first battery change on my wife's watch. It was quite easy to do this in the end. You do need to pay attention to the way you put the case cover back on though as I have learnt. be careful with the positioning of any grooves around that case cover. you will know what I mean, if you have tried it. they dont all just go back on in any old way though it seems some do. each watch is different. you will see. but my point, ahem, is that this is a very good, low cost item to add to a simple watch repair/care kit for beginners and I am very happy with it.

Does the job well.
I was quite anxious about using this after reading the 1 and 2* reviews, due to the glass having broke (obviously didn't want this to happen to my watches) but I have to say, there was no need to be. I found this easy to use and got the backs of my watches back on in no time, with little pressure needed on the press.I bought this as I realised after buying a watch repair kit that the pressurised watch backs couldn't be resealed with just my thumbs. Try as I might they just wouldn't go on! So after a bit of research I found this product, which had good reviews and with a 15% discount I thought why not try it...it will save me money in the long run!Anyway, for those worried about breaking the watch front glass...don't be.I would recommend using the die's only slightly larger than the watch face...i.e. so that the metal edge of the watch lies directly on the edge of the die and not in the middle of the die where the glass would take all the pressure. Then the back die has to be just the size of the back so all the pressure applied by the press falls on the edges of both the front and the back of the watch.I hope this makes sense and helps someone 🤞🏻I'm certainly a novice but this made the job easy.

Value and works
Having read the reviews I was a little sceptical as to whether it would work ok or not but decided to go for it anyway as it’s not that costly , I as pleasantly surprised when it arrived as some people were saying that the screws where it fastened to the base broke so that’s the first thing I looked for but mine had none , it was a solid piece with no screw threads to loosen , but be aware if you press the silver handle down like a water pump you may break something but I pressed down on the silver handle and used the curved blue bar so more like a nutcracker style squeeze, Sorry the descriptions are a bit odd but it’s the best description I could think of .Other reviews said they broke the glass , so again I was careful to first match the round nylon rings to the watch front making sure that it was big enough to miss the glass and cover the metal case only before screwing it into place on the base .I did three press on watch backs this way all rotary watches and have had no issues whatsoever , the only thing I found was that following the instructions it said put the small cloth down first and in the watch face on it , presumably to stop the face getting scratched and giving a little glass protection , I found when I did this the watch slid around before I could get it in place and made it hard (needed a third hand) so I left out the cloth after double checking the nylon circles missed the glass completely and made sure there was nothing protruding from the small brass centre inserts that could touch the glassand gently pressed the backs on , this method worked great for me but it may not for you so it’s entirely up to you if you find any of this helpful

Hammer Teil!
