I had bought a £10 laptop cooler around 3 years ago and it lasted that long, which surprised me that it did but it wasn't adjustable and was quite loud on the twin fan mode. I use my laptop quite a lot and it pretty quickly heats up so i looked around quite a bit and found this.For a smaller price increase there is definitely a large improvement, the fact that it is adjustable is very handy if you dont want to disturb people or want to use excess battery. I generally tend to keep it on max and, although i have to move my laptop slightly right on the cooler so that the fan is directly under the intake fan, it keeps my laptop VERY cool, it doesnt even run the fan as fast as it used to because its cool enough due to the cooler, which is a bonus to me as my laptop fan runs quite loud so it keep things nice and quiet.The claim i would say is reasonably true, it does run quiet.My advice to anyone like me who hates spending a lot of money, ending up looking at a plethora of different coolers on amazon,ebay and all other types of sites to get a good price, is to just get this one. I would definitely recommend getting this cooler. Its cheap, very effective and i dont have any troubles with it yet.

The package arrived in a nice glossy box that must have cost 50% of the price I paid. I do wish manufacturers of products this cheap simply made it out of plain brown cardboard, it would be easier to recycle. What do you expect for the money? It fits a 17” laptop (just), however the holding clip at the front that stops laptop from sliding when you put the bed at an angle isn’t exactly made of the strongest plastic. I have quite often ended up having to refit it when the laptop slipped forward and snapped it off. The fans work very well when they’re on, you have to remember every time you plug the bed in to the power unit such as the laptop to turn it on via the buttons. Several times I’ve noticed the laptop getting hot and realised that the bed wasn’t on. The laptop I think all down within a few minutes of 10 in the unit on. For the money I don’t think you need to get anything better therefore I will give it four stars if it wasn’t for the bracket at the front it, would’ve got five as it’s been better value for money than several others I have purchased over the past four years.

Pros:excellent cooling function. It saved my 7 years old pc, that now can work all day without stops. As I switch off the fans the pc stops after about an hour. So it really saved my life and my money as I don`t need to buy a new pc.Cons:it is really made of low quality materials and the design also is not very clever.The cooling function in itself is amazing. It is also quite silent, much more silent than the built in fans of a laptop.I had another laptop cooler that was three times the price and although it was sturdy and good quality from a famous brand for office products it simply did not really cool the laptop, after an hour it went hot again. So this little thing really does the job.All in all I love this item with these adjustments and for the price paid it is acceptable

What a piece of crap. this is the most useless purchase I've made this year. Wiring removed from plugging in and out within few days/maybe a week. the buttons are a joke. The stand broke a few months later just from the stress of holding my laptop in neutral setting. I have been constantly fixing this cooling pad over the past 6 months and it keeps failing. you need to push the usb upwards into your laptop port with something that will prop it upwards and keep it there. I used blue tac.I soldered the wires that lost contact from the USB head, probably more times than I've actually used my PC.I used super glue to fix the plastic stand.the fan that didn't work as it came out of the box is theoretically unfixable (not really but damn im not going to put that much effort into fixing this piece of crap)If the usb isnt propped upwards into the port, it turns he fan off at random times. (i have been disconnected from so many online games because this fan has failed to cool my PC).Please make a more sensible purchase, if you dont have the money for a better fan, borrow it and go into debt. Just don't buy this fan, and consider very carefully buying another fan in this price range. but yeah this one sucks more than the rest. and Read the reviews!!! They're Important.

Not impressed with this item at all. I have learned a valuable lesson about getting what you pay for! This unit was temperamental from the start. At times I had to press the on button multiple times in order to activate the fans. There seemed no real difference in the supposedly multiple fan speeds. The cable was of a very poor quality, breaking in no time at all. There also seems to be rust in my unit. It is far better in my opinion to spend a little bit more money and get a far better one.

Astonishingly poor, flimsy cooler. Awkward to erect, the piece that should cause the laptop to stay put on the cooler is tiny and flimsy and always breaks off. The stand itself broke. The fans are good in themselves but next to useless given that i cannot get the rest of this frustratingly inferior item to work.

I normally don't hand out 1 star reviews but this is absolute rubbish!. Literally broke down within a few weeks. The wiring is pretty bad and the buttons don't work properly. Do not purchase this, not a worthwhile investment in the long term.

Love it... cools my HP Compaq 6910p which heats up immensely, does the job, though in fairness I had to change the fan on my HP 6910p as it was heating up to over 90% in Task Manager, but now sitting at less than 50% and the cooler is helping!I really like it!! :-)
