Great Transformer for dimmable MR16 Halogen ceiling lights!! A++
Great fit and works well with our dimmable MR16 Halogen ceiling lights - this is is the second transformer I've bought to replace the Enlite transformers originally installed which seem to be failing. These also don't buzz so that's an added bonus!!

Product fine but..
...after much research, there are various nuances for this type of device:1) they're not a "transformer" in the conventional sense, more an electronic device capable of supplying 12V AC2) to perform electrically, device requires a minimum electrical load of 20W, so may not work with a low power, LED MR16 (DC) type bulb3) no point in testing output with a conventional meter as the output frequency is of the order of several kilohertz which will not adequately register on a conventional (50Hz nominal) multimeter. An oscilloscope is needed to evaluate the actual output4) apparently, by legislation, MR16 HALOGEN AC bulbs are on the way out. So, at some point, there's going to be a big switch over when we ditch these devices in favour of a 12V DC output unit with a corresponding 12V DC LED bulb

Solid replacement
Great replacement for a failed unit at a great price. If it lasts as long as the last one I will be very happy.

Be sure exactly what it is you are actually buying...
This product no doubt does well what it is designed for. But don't be misled by the rating "PRI 240V, SEC 11.6V" or the word 'transformer'.It IS NOT a TRANSFORMER in the traditional sense of a primary and secondary winding, which was what I was actually looking for to fulfil my project requirement, which is why I bought it. The voltage actually increases with load. And it needs a minimum load of about 20W (~7 ohm max) to work at all. To bypass the slow-start circuitry I opened it up to discover it is actually a DC (bridge-rectified) mains input to a DC circuit that oscillates and generates AC to a tiny, custom toroid. So it you're looking for a straight transformer, don't but it. It you want to supply 12V filament bulbs between 20W and 60W load, buy it - it's nicely designed and built. It just needs a more accurate description.

Great replacement transformer
Bought this to replace a defunct transformer for my garden lights. Despite the replacement being much smaller, I connected it up and the lights work again, albeit a bit less bright. Can't comment on longevity, but the product seems to be suitable and was easy to install.
