Not the seller's fault but the same model number is variously described as SATA II and SATA III. The box on my one says SATA II, I expected a SATA III before I looked deeper into the problem.However even as SATA II it's slow because, as with similar products, there is a circuit board at the back between the pins of the hard drive and the pins on the back of the dock that connect to the main SATA socket and that seems to slow it down.I am going to try and modify it using a SATA extension cable so the hard drive connects directly without an intervening circuit.If I as a novice can do it why couldn't the manufacturer do it or am I missing something?I should add I'm running Windows 7 on the drive that goes into it, not what it was meant for but no reason why it shouldn't work.
