Christmas Eve at the Mellops'

Nephew loved the book

to the person who thought the pig was smoking a joint in prison. Clearly that says more about you than the pig. Haha. A lovely children's book and sweet Christmas story. With no drugs in it, but there is one cigar (see 1star review for context).

Lovely book if it wasn't for Mr Mellops (abeit dressed as Santa) bringing 'all the boys presents up from the cellar where they were hidden'. My believing 5 year old would start asking questions. My non-believing 7 year old would start searching the cellar....

I bought this book on the basis of a recommendation in a local magazine. I think the placement of a prisoner pig smoking a large joint is highly inappropriate for this age group and as such have immediately returned this item to Amazon for a refund. To suggest that smoking is done in celebration by naughty prison pigs is just not a message that is auitable at this age or something Mummy wants to have to explain or put a sticker over.
