I would equate this to what some other brands would call a softening lotion. It's a liquid and I use a cotton pad to apply it. On a lazy day, I apply it directly to my face with a cotton without cleansing my face first. Depending on your skin type, it's hydrating enough to be used without a follow-up moisturizer. It works great with my skin; no skin irritation.

I am really loving this lotion! It arrived quickly and well packaged. It has no discernible odor really. It is a white creamy lotion more on the creamy side which I prefer. It feels great on my skin and absorbs quickly. It does not irritate my skin!

Ok, so I’m a little confused. The listing says this is a Soothing Relief Hydration Lotion - Silky Face Lotion for Sensitive Skin, but this definitely is not a soothing relief hydration lotion, it’s not a lotion at all!! Super bummed!I read others reviews once I tried it and noticed others said it was a toner. I am not a huge fan of toners. And I’m not a fan of this one either. It is a little harsh on my face, definitely not soothing or silky. I do have pretty sensitive skin, but this says it’s for sensitive skin. I don’t believe that to be true.If you are in the market for a toner and you don’t have sensitive skin, this might be for you. But if you are looking for a lotion that works well with sensitive skin, this is NOT for you.Also, the price is pretty steep (75 at time of review). That’s definitely overpriced, in my opinion.

Good for all skin types, and works ok for my dry and sensitive skin but it tingled a bit.What do I think? This is a good second step after cleansing and then applying a serum followed up by a cream. It removes any leftover debris and dead skin cells and helps to prepare your skin so it better absorbs a serum or cream. I think this is a bit overpriced for what it does and the ingredients. It does contain ginger so you may experience some tingling and some people aren't fond of the silicone used in the base. It also contains castor oil which can sometimes cause irritation in my skin when it is stressed. There are other toners that are better suited for my sensitive skin. I love how silky this makes my skin and this brand is an old favorite. I believe this was Marilyn Monroes choose skincare. It is very luxurious and this is a birthday splurge for me it is a bit pricey but it is worth it. I think investing in quality skincare is important, especially to me. I have struggled with horrible acne, oily skin and scars. This definitely protects and hydrats my skin without clogging or causing further breakouts. There is a slight scent to this but it is pleasent and the smell doesn't linger though the day. I use this every night after my shower and just apply it with clean hands over my face neck and chest.

Initially, Erno Laszlo's Soothing Relief Hydration Lotion intrigued me as an addition to my skincare regimen. I am not able to use it on my face daily yet it still offers results. Erno Laszlo products often have scientific skin care approach for active anti aging and long lasting results, I was eager to see how this would perform. This product is marketed as a "lotion". It is akin to a silky hyaluronic acid solution and feels more like a serum. The SensCalm Complex, with ingredients like Red Sage, Bisabolol & Ginger, are described as having the ability to soothe irritation and redness while fortifying the skin's barrier function. I observed this a certain level of smoothing and softening effect on my shoulders, but I found its texture slightly too abrasive for daily use on my face. I enjoy using this product. Its performance as a replenishing, exfoliating solution is unique and I will continue to use and will attempt more on my skin. The generous bottle size adds a luxurious touch, typical of Erno Laszlo skincare, and suggests longevity. My experience with the Soothing Relief Hydration Lotion has been largely positive.

Light weight yet very hydrating. Hasn’t irritated my skin. Wears well under makeup.
