YEARS ON AND I "STILL" HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!
The housing is not quite the high quality of the Osram/BenQ 1080ST bulb/cartridge installed however for the price it is certainly adequate and presents impressive value should the lamp last the test of time. I'd not envisaged finding a replacement bulb and housing this cheap and had to give it a try! My only concern is that it runs hotter than the original factory fitted lamp. I will fit a better quality Osram bulb in the old housing as a replacement and in the meantime hope for a good six months or so use from this unit. Other than the extra heat the lamp performance is comparable to the original.UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE: Still going strong after many many many hours of use over the last six months!!! I think the extra heat was possibly either my imagination or if there is indeed any difference it can only be very slight. Upon purchasing I was very dubious due to the low cost of the unit but now time has elapsed and it has proven itself a worthy compenent part i'm frankly delighted! I just hope this seller offers more for sale at the old price as I see the only ones available now are £85 from a third party seller.FURTHER UPDATE:Nearly two years on and still bright and breezy! Has surpassed and out lived the original component (and I have another spare in my theatre room). My son has taken over the theatre room and is in there every day for hours on end gaming with his friends...what is this component made of!? Christ I'd pay the current price tag! Thank you thank you thank you! 👍😀

Appears better than my original one
Appears better than my original one. Took 5 minutes to install.(Take off lid for projector on top, Remove plastic sticky cover, set it to the side, unscrew the far right screw and pull your old one out).Might need to pull a little bit harder from the left as thats the power socket and fits quite well.Place the new one in, push it down a little on the left side so it fits in the power socket, screw it in, put the plastic cover back and lid.Don't forget to reset the projector timer found in your Menu->System setting (advanced)-> lamp settings.

Amazing value!
For the price I don't think you can go wrong, looks almost identical to the OEM bulb, though the bulb itself is missing any kind of branding. A couple of reviewers have had the bulb fail after a relatively short time, but at least one of those had his quickly replaced, and the replacement lasted nearly a year and is still going strong. My original official OSRAM bulb failed after only 2500 equivalent hours where some peoples "official" bulbs have lasted well over 5000 hours, so I don't think the occasional dud is anything out of the ordinary. Especially at less than 20% of the price you can pay for an official one, think I'm going to buy a couple more of these as a backup.

Very Good Value For Money!
I purchased this bulb after my original OSRAM bulb gave up in my BenQ W1070. After reading the reviews i decided it was worth a try and hey presto....I now have a working projector. Very easy to fit and arrived in very secure packaging. As good as the original bulb. I will update the review if anything changes.

Well, it's not good
2 months and it has died. £50 wasted. Just avoid.I thought I could have been lucky but you get what you pay for.

Save 75% cost but performs to 10% of a manufacturer bulb
Bought October. It's now Jan. Used a few times a week for no more than a few hours. Bulb gone already!

Lasted 7 months - great for that amount of time!
Ordered this on the 7th of June 2019 and fitted it straightforwardly immediately. Looks and fits like the original. However the lamp has just packed in on the 13th January 2020. Use the projector every day for 4hours or so. Bend original lasted a couple of years, this replacement a mere 7 months.

Not value for money
Bulb exploded after 307hr lamp time. Was playing a zombie game at the time and had to change my underwear. Back to the original bulb again which has 5000+ hrs lamp time.
