RECOMMEND: Bluetooth Adaptor with Alexa on the side!
Added Bluetooth to my non-bluetooth car. Works seamlessly, quick to restart after car ignition, very useful as just a Bluetooth pass through to car speakers. (+Alexa).Looks nice, with Bluetooth connected it goes blue, fits in with my car interior. Is study, surprisingly small, sounds great. I got on spring sale so good value.

Good device, shame about the app.
The device itself is pure Alexa. When connected, it gives everything I've come to expect - voice controlled music, communications, app control, etc.The Alexa app is not so good, mainly from a connectivity point of view. If it loses connection, such as when driving through an internet coverage dead spot, it takes forever to re-connect. If a passenger can restart the whole phone (overkill, you'd think!) it starts working again - much faster than waiting for the app to re-establish a connection. EVERY other app on the phone can be connected to the internet, but not dear Alexa. There is no "Alexa, reconnect" or "Alexa, reboot yourself" command. So, if you're driving solo, your options are to wait - sometimes up to half an hour - or pull over and force-stop/restart Alexa. Even closing the app and re-opening it does not work - it's force stop, reboot phone, or wait half an hour. Nobody wants to pull to the side of the road to reconnect an entertainment system.Strangely enough, I don't have this problem if I put an Echo dot in the car, and tether it to the same phone. It's ONLY Alexa Auto.

Yes its an 08 but now made into a 23 plate
Id say who needs a dealership, with this all new hands free amazon auto its a massive game changer, I will drive my old 08 plate until the impossible stops me. I don't need a screen when I have ALEXA... surprisingly this device not only makes my drives run smoothly but has also managed too up my speakers quality, with that, there is no need too be abuseing and shout for Alexas attention with the 5 microphones the device has, she sure wont have a problam i like listening to loud music at times on all levels of different music but still shes hearing me. The device itself good size looks smart easy too manoeuvre and easily mounted at your chosen way, ones that's done tuck them wires away and you have alexa incognito not too mention the easy accessible red mute button but people will soon think your just talking too yourself not your bestie Alexa. Then there is taking and receiving calls, well its hands free premium without a glich or friend in call shouting what where I can't hear say that again you driving, what you get is what you should. So If you haven't got it already I highly recommend getting it because I don't feel sad looking at them nice cars no more. I have all I need

Useful, But Some Connection Hiccups
I’ve been using the Echo Auto for a bit now, and it’s a decent addition to my car, but there are a few drawbacks. The voice commands are really convenient for hands-free tasks, like changing music, asking for directions, or checking the weather while driving. It’s easy to set up, and it connects well with my phone’s Bluetooth. However, the connection isn’t always reliable, and I sometimes need to reconnect it, which can get annoying. Also, the sound quality for calls isn’t as good as I expected, especially when compared to other in-car devices.Pros:Convenient hands-free Alexa commandsEasy to set up and useGood for music and simple tasksCons:Connection issues can be frustratingCall quality could be betterOverall, it’s a handy gadget, but it’s not perfect. Worth it if you’re a big Alexa fan, but not essential.

It's useless
Have I got a broken one? The other reviews are good but for me, this barely works.A bit of history. I was an early adopter of the original Echo Auto, that was a pain to use when it was first released. It gradually became what it should always have been but it now works sporadically, it's in my wife's car and she's unplugged it and refuses to use it as it just infuriates her.Along came v2, smaller (well sort of) and what I was hoping to be a refined product. Initial setup was a breeze, and the variety of commands that I threw at it were all completed as expected in the brief 5 minutes that I spent playing around. That was the height for the v2. The following is a list of all the faults I have discovered in the near 2 weeks "using" it on a daily basis.1. As I went on a drive the next day and, whilst playing music, I noticed that every 2-3 minutes the bluetooth connection drops slightly producing what I can only describe as a hiccup in the middle of a song. This happens every time I am connected. A rather annoying fault but one that I'd hope they would fix pretty quickly.2. Just like the original, it sometimes doesn't use the phones app to make calls and instead uses Amazon's which I think uses the Internet instead making it completely useless in areas where I don't have perfect 4/5G. This forces me to have to stop and make a call. There needs to be an option to default to the phones calling app and not Amazon's.3. As my phone connected around the start of week 2, I started to have to unplug the USB and plug it back in again to get sound. Another fault that was common on my v1.4. This brings us to today where it stopped working all together. I have reset it twice and had no luck. I have a solid blue light sometimes, sometimes a flashing blue light. I call alexa and the light comes on but there's no sound, I call alexa and get nothing, I press the action button and get a light but still nothing. When I have finally got something from v2 it's because I've manually started Spotify. Asking v2 to skip a song or stop playing doesn't work either. There seems to be a complete disregard in the entire Echo system for Spotify as I can struggle at home on v2 bigger brothers.I'm conclusion, this is no better than a cheap £15-20 bluetooth receiver. I'll give it a couple of weeks to see if any updates get rolled out but this is just another example of a firm pushing out a product that clearly isn't ready for release.
