Great Idea, Bad Execution
I purchased this product several months ago. I have tried many different shakers through the years. Blender Bottle is the most popular brand, with probably somewhere around a 90% market share. But Blender Bottles eventually have issues with the plastic cracking around the rim, also they look like a 'gym product'. As a result I wanted to see if there was anything better out there. The Cyclone Cup Shaker was enticing because of the sleek black design and functional storage area at the bottom of the cup. After around 6 months of ownership this is my review:Appearance:It looks great.Durability:It is still working, no cracks or malfunctions.Functionality:This is where the product falls down and sadly it's the most important part. The 'cyclone' part is just a rigid plastic cone that protein or similar smash into and break up as they shaken while in the cup. Nothing fancy, but it does the job. It is also reasonably quiet while this occurs, unlike a Blender Bottle that has the metal ball rattling loudly as it bounces all over the place. The storage area. Screws on and off quite easily. Seems to be reasonably water-tight. Doesn't hold much though. Holds about a scoop and a half of protein. And you have to be careful putting protein in the storage cup as it is not much bigger in width than your average scoop, so you end up spilling some protein if you aren't careful. The main issues are related to the locking cap. The cap is mounted overtop of the 'cyclone' plastic piece. The cap is sometimes called a locking cap and for good reason. If you over-tighten it or even slightly tighten it, you may never get the cap back off. I have been weight lifting for the better part of twenty years and weigh 250 lbs+ and I have trouble getting the cap off sometimes. The reason seems to be that the top of the 'cyclone' piece is rubberized and the cap is smooth plastic. The rubberized portion creates a massive amount of friction causing the cap to lock in place. It seems that the makers of the Cyclone Cup knew about this issue and added rubberized grip areas on the outside of the cap to compensate. If the rubberized areas were not on the outside of the cap you would never get the cap off as the rest of the plastic is nearly as smooth as glass. You can avoid the lock issue by removing the 'cyclone' piece from the cup as it just sets in place. But then you just have a cup.Another issue related to the cap is that if you put water in the cup and then screw on the cap, you need to be careful when you go to drink out of the cup because if you've gotten the slightest amount of water in the grooves where the caps screws on, some of that water remains and will spill from the edge of the cup and all down your shirt. So the edge where the cap meets the cup is kind of a water trap. Very annoying. As a result of these two issues, the locking cap and water dribble from the edges, I cannot recommend the Cyclone Cup. This is unfortunate as the cup has some really good ideas and looks classy. I'm sure they had the best of intentions but the design just doesn't work.

Excellent shaker bottle and even better customer service!
I've been using my Cyclone Cup for about four months now. It has worked perfectly (except for one incident which I'll go into more detail about later). It feels very high quality and it has measurements on the side to tell you how much liquid is in there (up to 16oz). I got the black one, and clear plastic is darker than what you see in the picture. It looks really nice. It breaks up powder really well as long as you add the water first, then the powder. If you make the mistake of doing powder first, then it gets clumped at the bottom.I'm not sure how much better this is over the Blender Bottle in terms of mixing power. They both do the job very well. What sold me on the Cyclone Cup was the storage container on the bottom for extra powder. Instead of taking two bottles, one for your pre/during-workout and one for your post-workout protein powder, you can take this one bottle and put your pre/during-workout drink in the bottle and put the protein powder in the bottom to mix up after your workout. The bottle held up against leaks very well until I washed it in the dishwasher. The instructions say it is top-rack safe, which is where I had it, but after the dishwashing, the bottle warped ever so slightly to an oval shape so the lid had trouble fitting on. It also had leaking problems after the dishwashing. Why would I give it 5 stars if it leaked and warped after only a couple weeks? I called up customer service and explained the issue and without hesitation, the customer service rep offered to send me a replacement. There was no hassle, I didn't have to pay any shipping fees, they handled the issue perfectly and I got my new Cyclone Cup in the mail within a few days. That's top-notch customer service that's very hard to come by nowadays.Pros:-High quality and good looking bottle-Storage container for protein powder allows you to have a different drink in the bottle during your workout.-Grade A+ customer service for replacing my Cyclone Cup with no hassle.Cons:-Possibly not dishwasher safe. I'd recommend hand-washing it to be on the safe side.If you have any questions, I'd be happy to address them in the comments.

Great shaker! Smooth drink! But it can leak if not screwed on just right.
The only other shaker I can compare to is the Fit & Fresh Jaxx Shaker Bottle, which I have owned for about a year. The bottle is great! It has this mechanism at the top, I will call the cyclone part. The cyclone part is made of plastic and unlike other shakers it stays still at the top. It's a sieve that will sift and break up your powder even with the toughest lumps! And it does a pretty good job at it. The powder or mixture is forced through the netting and it breaks up and mixes quite well.Unlike other shakers which have a moving part like my old Jaxx Bottle, this one stays still pushing against the liquid. The problem with my Jaxx was sometimes there were big lumps and it took a while of shaking in hopes that the Jaxx inside would corner the lump and squash it. Im sure the same is with other moving shakers but especially with one that has no holes or netting to force powder to go through it.For a year I got used to the fact that the Jaxx shaker I had was capable enough that the liquid would taste slightly unsmooth. The first time I used the Cyclone Cup I was amazed! It was extremely smooth! I could not tell there was protein powder in this drink.Con: It can leak, if not screwed exactly right. The one problem is that if you take the cyclone piece out, and seal the cup closed, it will leak. It needs the cyclone piece, with its rubber lip, to be complete. And the Cyclone needs to be perfectly in place and the top screwed on nicely and somewhat tight. You can know if you have done it right by tipping the cup on its side and checking for a steady drip. But most of the time it doesn't seem to leak.UPDATE:This thing leaks all the time. All over my car, all over my clothes! It's a great shaker but unfortunately it leaks...
