I highly recommend their books
I bought it for my son. It’s not worth the money at all. It just includes a limited number of characters that are repeatly expressed by two type of cards with different sizes. It’s not acceptable for me that I paid $89 for less than 50 words. I also bought books from the same company. I highly recommend their books.

Great game, the guides are very helpful!
We've got Chineasy books and love their design - we were thrilled to find that they now have a game! Our boys are 5 & 7, we'd love them to have exposure on Chinese even though no one in our family speaks Chinese. Hey, just look at the population in China, the world will be be different from today when they grow up and as parents we want to prepare them for that. One thing - there’s no instruction booklet in the box, so while we opened it we were confused about how to start. The quality of everything in the box was fantastic though! Luckily, we quickly found several game rules printed at the back of the box as well as a url to download guides. See my photo, I’d say download now! Yes, even if you haven’t bought it, it’s free download. We downloaded parents guide, which includes lots of ways to play step-by-step, nicely designed so very easy to follow through. The boys love playing it! They think it’s such a cool game and my younger one is bringing it to school for show-and-tell!

Son learned 20+ characters on the first day!
Bought this for my kids to learn Chinese characters. We just open the box today & my 5 year old learned 20+ Characters in a day. We are a mandarin speaking family so it’s easy to start the guessing game by looking at the pictures. I first used the larger tiles & taught him maybe the first 5 characters. Then moved on to the small tiles with the bingo boards. If he could read/ guess the word he gets to keep the tiles. He was able to complete 3 bingo boards in the first day!! This is a fun way to learn Chinese characters and I am so glad that my kid got very interested to learn Chinese through the game. However, I did take off 1 star because for some characters there there was like 4 of the same tiles while others there’s only maybe 1. I know this set has a total of 48 different characters & with a total on 100 small tiles you may be able to even out the numbers of each small tile a bit more? Also, I know they were probably trying to choose the easy characters first but I do question some of the word choices such as 本 or 士 or 川 put in the set. There were couple pictures that’s a bit confusing too. But overall I would definitely recommend this game to parents as a starting point to get their kids interested in learning Chinese characters. Now I am hoping they can sell supplemental tiles with different characters to add to the collection after my kids learn all 48 words.

Too pricy for minimum benefit
Kids do enjoy playing the games. However, some words are not basic convetsational words (for example, scholar). The tiles are high quality, but I'm giving 2 stars for lack of practically.

I’ve had great experience using Chineasy Tiles in my Mandarin Immersion class ...
I’ve had great experience using Chineasy Tiles in my Mandarin Immersion class and would recommend it to my fellow teachers! The Chineasy methodology combines storytelling and imagination with chinese characters, making it more fun and easy to learn to read characters and make phrases. Our class of 18 students loved connecting tiles to make phrases and sentences; storytelling and charade are also their favorite games - they loved it so much that they decided to skip the movie time we’ve planned for the next session and continue playing the games! The teachers guide downloadable on Chineasy’s website includes 10 ways to play as a good start, but I believe any experienced teacher can come up with new ways that’s suitable for your students level and classroom dynamics. The cards and boards are made with thick water-proofed cardboards and tiles are plastic like “Mah Jong” so very sturdy and much better quality than other Chinese learning materials I’ve used.I am so glad to have such a new invention in the world of Chinese learning and will continue to use it in my classroom!

College sophomore granddaughter loved this gift
Gifted to college sophomore granddaughter who is studying Mandarin Chinese. Turns out that she played with younger and older sisters over Christmas break, and all seemed to love them, even though the other two are not studying Mandarin.

I am really happy with the tiles
I am really happy with the tiles. It just makes learning Chinese so much fun for my 3.5 years old boy. Imagine having an active to sit and learn Chinese words by reading. The longest attention he can have is 15 minutes, but with the tiles he is so engaged and can be learning for almost an hour. It just helps so much in creating a interesting environment for the kids to learn Chinese.

Nice concept but a bit pricy
I love this concept! I do believe this is targeted towards Mandarin speaking families tho. Being a Mandarin speaker my 3.5yr son was able to sound out a few characters just by looking at the picture and after two days he already can recognize a few characters! I do think some drawings are not that relevant to the character so it may be confusing and misleading and some characters aren't all that important or useful to begin learning from. Also, 48characters are a bit less I wish there would be more characters. Overall a very nice concept as it really works to grab my son's attention (maybe for only 10minutes a day) to learn Chinese in a fun way, and it was my intention to not push him or teach him to read the traditional way. I do think the price is a bit high for this type of simple game that some crafty moms would even be able to make themselves tho.
