Helping Hands Soldering Station, Lytool Third Hand Soldering Tool with 3X Magnifying Glass Dimmable LED, Flexible Helping Hands Soldering with 4 Flexible for Welding Repair Hobby DIY

I was wondering whether this helping hand devise would live up to its promises. I am disabled and have very painful and weak hands and have been finding soldering very difficult, hence the purchase.The device arrived in a sturdy box, it had a little book with 2 pages of instructions per language, not that it was ever going to be difficult to put together. The items to be put together were all nicely packed to protect them, and it took me only 10 minutes to put together.The crocodile clips have rubber shrunk wrapped onto them to protect the items being held, which works well, the bendy arms all hold well and the position they are put at is where they stay, which is a must in my book.The light is very good and has 3 colours, very white, slight warm (which I like most) and very warm which is easy on your eyes at the end of the day. Light intensity is variable over a wide range and gives all the light you will ever need.The magnifying glass is of good quality and I found it to give enough magnification to see even very small details, I was pleased that it did what it should do unlike many lenses that promise but never deliver. I would have liked the lens to have been of a larger diameter, maybe 4 cm, but that is just my preference, it still does it's job very well. An improvement to the design would be a ball joint from the magnifying glass to its arm, just to make placing of the lens a little bit easier, it's not hard but for my hands it would be of some help, for most people I don't see it as a problem.The unit came with 2 spare Croc clips that was a nice touch.Conclusion;A very sturdy, and useful helping hand, it has made a significant improvement to my soldering and it lives up to its hype. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a helping hand while soldering or indeed any other craft pursuit etc. The alterations to the device I have suggested are all down to personal preference, if that was taken out of the equation this would be perfect.I give this a score of 9.9 out of 10, I love it.

Handy tool but the arms screwed to the base keep coming loose. IF bolted to base would be better and more secure with less likelihood of the arms coming loose. Overall good bit of kit

As someone whos eyesight isnt what it used to be i need a bit if extra help. It come flat packed but only took me a couple of minutes to assesmble. I love the fact they provided extra clips which are all plastic coated to not damage your work. The goose necks are easy to position but strong enough that they won't move even if you knock them and the base is heaviy enough not to worry about tipping over The light just plugs into a ubs charger or power bank. The colour temp can be adjusted to suit your needs and brightness can be adjusted in multi steps. For my needs I found half brightness plenty. The magnifier itself has no distortion and is powerful enough to let me see exactly what I am soldering

Really like this helping hand system. The arms bend smoothly and hold their position really well. The base is sturdy and has a fiar bit of weight to it keeping it stable while you work on things.The magnifying glass is clear and works very well, while the LED ring light provides good illumination.You can select between 3 different LED colours from Warm to White, but most people will probably stick with the white light.You have to assemble it, but it comes with a little screw driver and that is all that is required. Also came with a couple of spare crocodile clips too which was nice.

what was sent were 16mm m4 screws which are not long enough to properly engage the arms with the spacer and feet I had to substitute my own 20mm m4 screws which fit perfectly I shouldn't need to do this

I wrote a review for the basic version and I can only repeat it here the LED light on this really does make ALL the difference - the basic version feels fragile and poorly built - this LED light makes so much difference its actually so strong you can aim it at a wall and use it as a soft lamp as well .So if you really wanted to you could consider this workstation more of an alternative lamp design!Super useful bit of kit though

Nothing to dislike for the price excellent.

I figured everyone knows these things will hold a PCB but what is not always apparent is what size and weight.So I believe the max reliable size for it is around 100mm.It will hold slightly larger but it becomes awkward and the arms loose strength.But at 100mm they will support the weight of a full tin of pop.The jaws are also strong.The magnifier is ample and the ability to change the colour and brightness of the light helpful.Overall for working on the small occasional PCB like I do it works well.

As a longtime tech this device is a great aid to securing the ever-shrinking boards and material for soldering. The base is heavy enough to keep it stable and weight can be added by simply gluing some heavy washer on to the bottom. Adding a magnet to the bottom to the cup will help keep things in place. The flexible arms are sturdy enough to support most things including cables and small boards. Not necessarily an everyday use tool but very handy when needed.

Ich habe die Station gekauft, da ich privat gerne einige Elektrobasteleien durchführe.Was mir sofort aufgefallen ist, ist die gute Verarbeitung. Der Zusammenbau funktioniert problemlos und ist nach wenigen Minuten erledigt. Die Anleitung ist sehr gut bebildert.Die Krokodilklemmen haben genügend Kraft, Das Licht ist hell und ein- oder ausschaltbar und für meine bisherigen Lötexperimente war die Station eine super Hilfe.

Muy útil cuando necesitas más de dos manos para sujetar y por ejemplo soldar una pieza.
