Pictory write your own book kit

I bought this for my 6year old little girl to do for her daddy on Fathers Day. I wasn't sure how long it would take to get printed and returned (as had only found out it existed a couple of weeks beforehand) so queried this on Amazon. The owner of the company Ross promptly emailed to say if for a specific date they would do everything possible to expediate, if I let him know when sending to him. I must say the customer service I experienced was exceptional and very friendly - we bought, completed and posted in and it has arrived back several days before we needed. We received several updates along the way too on its' progress. The finished product is delightful - if you supply a photo of your child this is placed on the back cover with some information about your child in a beautiful piece of text. My little girl was so happy to see her first 'published' story in print with her photo and details in it. There is a dedication page that you add also which is a great touch. One of my favourite elements is that you can select not to have spelling mistakes that your child has made corrected - so 'alliteration' in my little girls story was printed exactly how she imagined it to be 'litteraishon' - fabulous to look back on in later years! I cant wait to see my husbands face on Fathers Day - a genuinely special gift to treasure - would recommend to all and intend to purchase another one for her grandparents for Christmas. Two of my friends have also now taken details as they loved when seen- a great idea for birthday gifts too. Fabulous!

A nice product which my 7 year old daughter really enjoyed doing. It was simple to do, with clear instructions. It took a long time to receive the finished product back, but it was lovely when it did come and my daughter was thrilled with it.

Bought this for my 4 1/2 year old daughter to do. she spent ages creating pictures of all the things that she likes (tinkerbell, butterflies and the like). we wrote a few words about the pictures, filled in the basic questions like dedication etc and sent it off. Got back the finished product and we're delighted with it. lovely plasticised cover, good size font on the individual pages and well bound.only complaint i have is that none of the information i provided about her as a person ie likes and dislikes etc have been included in the book, so why did i have to give the information in the first place?word of caution: the individual pages are not laminated or plasticised at all so are not going to be all that durable. once your child has seen their work in print i would suggest putting the book away somewhere to keep it in good condition. its not the cheapest activity and you would not want it to be ruined by too many little fingers.its a great keepsake / snapshot of your childs abilities at a certain age and we'll be doing it again. recommended product.

Brilliant kit, my son loved it - but we've waited more than 2 months for the finished book to arrive. Have chased and been told it will be another week - no apology. My son is only 6, it's a long time to wait and the website says 'please allow 4 weeks'. Disappointing end to such a great idea.

We received our book today and it's turned out brilliant. It was a gift for Granny from the grandkids and she really loved it. It's a great idea and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. The customer service we received was excellent. They made sure that we received our book on time. Thank you!!!!

Bought this as a gift and was a little disappointed with how it looked- I expected it to look more like a regular book rather than one someone had just put together. I won’t be buying this again

I used this kit to make my three year old a story for Christmas, after she announced that Santa was bringing her a book about a monkey (and a very detailed story involving red cars and ducks etc) and it became apparent that this book not only didn't exist outside of her head, but it really mattered that it appeared at Christmas! So in order to save Christmas (!) I got their felt tips and crayons and had no choice but the do it myself, and it absolutely blew my daughter's mind when she actually got this book from Santa! It's a really great idea.
