Doesn't... taste... like vanilla??
I only drink matcha occasionally, but, frankly, I can't notice a marked difference in flavor from this matcha to any other. Is it vanilla flavored? Really??It's good matcha. It comes in a very tiny can and tastes good hot or blended into a smoothie. I added some of my own, pure vanilla to the second smoothie I made with it to actually give it a subtle, creamy vanilla taste, and I liked that. I definitely felt the caffeine from it too! I was high energy for a while after my smoothie, and it made me want to have those on a more regular basis for certain. The price on this, though, is scandalous, and I have no idea why it would be so high. Is it good matcha? Yes. Is it any different from any other matcha I've tried? Not to the notice of my taste buds. That, on top of the fact it doesn't taste like vanilla detracted a couple of stars from my rating. While I wouldn't dissuade against this one, I would suggest looking into other, more reasonable matchas before this one.

Delicious and Full of Flavour!
This matcha is a lovely addition to my tea cupboard! It's very smooth, with none of the harsh bitterness or chalky texture of cheaper grades of matcha. When you open the tin, you're met immediately with a strong "green" smell, almost like fresh-mown grass, so you can tell it's a good, fresh product. The vanilla is extremely subtle and is more aromatic than flavourful. If you're expecting big vanilla flavour, this is not the matcha for you. This matcha powder works well for both the traditional hot drink and a cold "latte" style drink. Because of the quality and price point of this matcha, I wouldn't use it for baking — though you certainly could. As far as price goes, this matcha is on the higher end of the scale. But this is ceremonial grade — the highest possible quality. It's organic. It comes from Uji, known for its superior teas. So you're paying for very, very high quality. This 1-ounce tin should make about 12 cups of matcha, depending on how thick and strong you make it. If you use ½ teaspoon to about 4 oz. of water, you'll get the most matcha for your dollar.

way over priced for no reason
there are no distinguishable improvement in taste, and theres nothing about it that makes it superior to any other matcha, especially considering the price you are paying. there is no vanilla taste to it either. there is nothing about this that justifies the price. save yourself a lot of money, and go with anything else.

It has great aroma
The vanilla Matcha Green Tea Powder has a very nice aroma when brewing.I did 1tsp to 8oz boiling water for 5-6minutes, similar to other ceremonial grade matcha green tea powder that I use regularly. As much as I smell the vanilla when sipping, I don't know I taste vanilla. Not the same as if I choose to add vanilla extract to my brewed matcha, so I was a bit disappointed. As a sidenote, the wife saw this container sitting on the counter and thought I had bought her makeup. LOL.Goes to show, who are they marketing this for and how does a makeup designed container make one think of or enjoy matcha? Matcha = beauty? Maybe.OVERALL:Steeping for 5-6 minutes is perfect for 1tsp to 8oz. The matcha is a strong flavor.Yes, steeping 8+minutes and it may be too bitter for many drinkers.I really like adding boiling almond milk and sweetener to the matcha for a creamy, sweet drink.I just wish the vanilla flavor wasn't hidden by the matcha but more balanced.

Usually love matcha, but this didn't taste good, didn't dissolve well. Small container.
I'm a big fan of matcha, and was interested in trying this with vanilla. Didn't really get the vanilla, and the matcha tasted off. It didn't dissolve well, leaving clumps at the bottom of my glass no matter how much I stirred. Also, the container is very small, so you don't get a lot. Even though I knew this when ordering, given the low quality of the matcha, it becomes more of an issue. Hopefully I got a bad or old batch, but as it is, I can't recommend.

Delicious
The Reserve Vanilla Matcha Green Tea Powder and Japanese Ceremonial Grade Matcha Green Tea Powder to Enhance Focus and Relaxation (1 oz)I have recently been enjoying matcha tea more, and I have to say, this is the best matcha I've tried. I tried it by itself with just water as well as in a latte. The matcha is smooth and tastes wonderful, with no bitter aftertaste. The vanilla paired especially well with the latte, but I almost feel bad for mixing milk in it because of how smooth it tasted. This grade of matcha is best for straight drinking.Price at time of review (twenty dollars) was a little high but not unreasonable for ceremonial grade matcha. Overall I would highly recommend!

Nice flavor but not too much vanilla
So I have recently started drinking matcha, as I do like a good tea, and this would seem to be a natural progression into something a little fancier and healthy. The matcha is nice tasting, but I was kind of hoping for more vanilla flavor. I found it to be more of a matcha with a hint of vanilla, rather than a vanilla matcha. That being said, it prepares well, and with boiling water makes for a very nice warm drink. It maintains the traditional matcha color of very green, and goes down easy. All in all, not bad, but a little more vanilla please.

amazing!
I thought I wouldn't like them changing matcha, but this is really delicious! The vanilla is perfect without overpowering. It's expensive, but this is about right for ceremonial matcha. I'm not sure if you really need ceremonial grade for a mixed flavor... But if you don't might the price, I really suggest it.
