Good book, but challenging as a first analysis course
I used this book as preparation for a graduate measure theory course, per the instructors recommendation.Based on my experiences, I would recommend this book to students trying to learn basic real analysis in the context of metric spaces. This book is well written, challenging and slightly terse. It is helpful to have some exposure to basic topology and real analysis in the context of R^n. However, this book is self contained and doesn't explicitly require any prerequisites other than proof writing abilities and the mathematical maturity to handle difficult material. If you are serious about being a mathematician, my recommendation is to work through this book on your own, outside of your normal coursework. Unless you go to a good school, this book will most likely be more difficult than the analysis you will see in a first analysis course. It is a challenging book and you will struggle.

The Analysis Book
This is the definitive book on Analysis. And it's available at a great price. Definitely not an easy read as other reviewers have noted, but if you can struggle through it, will be well worth the effort.

Canonical, but not always clear
Rudin is the standard introductory real analysis textbook, so it's definitely worth having a copy, especially if your class is using it. The presentation of the material is very information dense, but it's not necessarily the best way to build intuition (The Way of Analysis by Strichartz might be better for that).

A tough but effective read
Rudin is always a tough read, but if you're planning to learn real analysis you better be up for the challenge. Don't expect to flip through this textbook. Each page is dense with info and requires a good deal of thought. If you make it through a chapter and truly understand what you read, you are a step closer to a fundamental understanding of analysis. In terms of the physical book, expect thin pages. As long as you're not extremely rough, I had no problems and the book held up well.

For $13, this is a no brainer!
There’s an argument to be made that it’s not the best introductory analysis text, but $13 for “baby rudin” paperback is such a wonderful deal. Having a text in the physical world, especially one of this quality, is wonderful. Perhaps for the parts where this book does not suffice, an online search will aid you, but still, this text for this price makes it an easy 5 stars.

THE STANDARD book on analysis for undergraguates
This book has long been THE STANDARD book on analysis for undergraduates. It still remains that way today. My undergraduate hardcover copy is battered, so I picked up this paperback to replace it. It is convenient to purchase this book at a low price as a paperback.

Well written !
This is an extremely well written book ! I am trying to learn some undergrad analysis by myself. It makes you think hard and solutions for the exercises are available in the Internet. If you supplement it with some good video lectures and assignments from the Internet, it is perfectly good for self-study.

classic
Must have when learning undergrad analysis. It might not be the easiest to learn from but it's commonly used and classic
