Locks Of Fame Shampoo, 8-Ounces Bottle

I bought this shampoo and the conditioner after looking for more natural alternatives. After I used it a few times, I decided I didn't like it. I felt I was using a lot to get my hair clean, as well as wasting a lot because the shampoo easily glides off your hand before it can reach your hair. Not great when you already feel it's a bit pricey. My hair looked good though! After trying some other natural shampoos and hating them because they either made my hair too dry or too oily, I decided to give this one another try. Later that day after retrying it, I realized something I was wearing smelled delicious. It took me a while to figure out it was the shampoo and conditioner! It kind of smelled like lemon meringue pie (but again, I'm using in conjunction with the conditioner). So now I'm just more careful to try to keep it from gliding off my hand, and I only tend to use it about once a week, especially when I'm going out with friends. I've gotten so many compliments on the smell when someone is giving me a hug! It's now one of my favorites, but I use it sparingly in my rotation due to the amount you use for the price. I gave it a 4 out of 5 because of the reasons I mentioned and when comparing it to all shampoos, but if I was comparing only to more natural shampoos, this one is probably a 5 out of 5. I'm glad I gave it another try!Edited 8-19-15: I'm upping this to 5 stars because the more I use it, the more I love it. My hair looks shinier because of it. I'm really afraid they might stop selling it one day and I'd be extremely disappointed and don't have an alternative that's even close. That's the true indicator of how much you love a product!

My hair is clean after using this product but not shiny or smooth at all. It smells like lemon floor cleaner which I will admit smells better than most "Free of" shampoos, but it makes me wonder throughout the day when I smell lemon cleaner is it me or the furniture.

This is hands down my favorite natural shampoo. I just wish it wasn't so expensive. I need two squirts to shampoo my short hair, and while it smells awesome and makes my hair feel great, it's just hard to justify $16 dollars for 8 ounces of product. I love all the Pristine Beauty products, and all of them last a long time - like a YEAR - making it worth the price! But not this one. :(

After reading various reviews online, I decided to try out this shampoo. This is my first experience with a natural shampoo, so that should be kept in mind when reading this review. PROS: Smells fantastic. Really. Fan.tas.tic. It's got a really nice lemony citrus smell that stays with your hair, even when dried and conditioned (I used a different conditioner). It's not an overpowering Pledge-like lemon smell, either. It's refreshing and light. It's also natural, which is of course a pro, because it doesn't have all sorts of nasty chemicals that you don't want to be putting in your hair. It seems to do a good job cleaning my hair as well. CONS: Really expensive for the amount of product you get. Particularly because you have to use quite a bit of the product to get your hair clean (I have medium-length hair and I have to wash it twice with this shampoo (I tend to run oily) using 2-4 pumps of the product at a time). I'm guessing this is going to last me a week and a half, max, and that's really rather ridiculous for a $14 bottle of shampoo. I mean, I like the backstory to the product, I realize it's all natural and that it made by a tiny company, which of course makes it more expensive. But even with all that in mind, it's still too expensive for the amount of product you get. So all in all, even though I like what the product stands for and appreciate that it's all natural (and smells fantastic), unless the price were to be cut in half (and the amount of product doubled), I wouldn't consider buying this again.

I have coarse, dry hair and this shampoo, conditioner, and the serum are the best thing that ever happened to it. After--seriously-- decades of trying different products, this is it. My only worry is that they will stop selling it, or change the formula. Because my hair has been a problem since my 30's, and now--at 45--it is as soft and healthy as when it was in my 20's. Please don't stop making this stuff.

I'm very happy with this line of products. I found them online and bought everything they offered directly from there website where the owner does great little videos. The videos share ways you can use the products and a little about her history (she's a cancer survivor!).I've tried many natural shampoos and this (and her conditioner) are among my favorites that I continue to buy. Simply put.... they work. I have long, naturally wavy hair that is partly highlighted around my face (I go to an organic salon, but still.... coloring is coloring and can dry the hair). The shampoo has a small amount of lather, but don't expect a lot... obviously because it's non-toxic. The smell is GREAT just like everything else in her line.

Love this shampoo! I've been using it 3+ years (along with the conditioner). It makes my hair soft and smells great. I have dry/fine/thin hair and this shampoo doesn't make my hair limp or flat, but nice and soft/fluffy. I only use 1-2 pumps each time and it lasts me about 6 months (I don't use it every day tho, probably 3 times/wk). It doesn't lather so don't expect a lot of bubbles/foam, it works great though. Would highly recommend!
