Great book appropriate for any kid!
This is an awesome book that had my 11 year old graphic novel loving but NOT “artsy” kid up the last two nights making his own comic books. So inspiring and great. I came to leave a glowing review and saw people earmarking it as inappropriate for kids, apparently due to the very chill and positive page that shows kids using their preferred pronouns with great etiquette and kindness? Wow. Yeah, if you want to raise bigoted kids who aren’t ready to accept other folks then this isn’t for you. And maybe don’t read books at all. :) even the Bible! There’s some pretty scandalous stuff in there.

The Cartoonists Club: 288 pages of pure inspiration for future generations
Whether you are a kid or an adult, if you believe in the undeniable power of sequential art to transform lives, this book will strengthen the very foundations of your faith for the future of comics. There's no better way of describing this book than calling it the love child of Raina Telgemier's "Smile" and Scott McCloud's "Understanding Comics."Even though many of the complex ideas shared by Scott McCloud are found in this book, rather than calling this book a simplification of said ideas, I would call it an optimization. This book understands that in order for sequential art to survive in the era of generative "AI" authors need to lead through the power of education."Anyway, perfect is for robots. Mistakes are where the people are! Let's make comics for people!"-Howard, Page 201

McCloud/Telgemeier Dream Team
This book has been a huge hit with my class. Some students already started forming their own art club after reading it. It was an instant buy for me once I saw that it was by two titans of literature. If you’re not as familiar with Scott McCloud, his Understanding Comics trilogy is essential reading for any age of comic fan.

My son's new favorite book ❤️ I did not expect how much he loves this book.
My son has read this book maybe ten times and he's only had a month. I sincerely hope they come out with a second book in a series.

The book all young cartoonists have been waiting for.
A wonderful mix of Raina's down-to-earth storytelling of middle school kids and Scott's deconstruction of comics as an art form. If you've got a budding young cartoonist in your life this book is for them!

Fun book 💜
This is my daughters favorite author. She is 11 years old and in 5th grade. She was so excited to get her new book and said she wanted to finish the whole book tonight. I'm so happy she enjoys books that much 🥰 I personally don't prefer graphic novels and maybe you don't too, but they are popular with the kids right now. The pictures and colors are beautiful and cute and hey, she's reading after all❣️

Great Book
My 11-old year daughter has read and enjoyed other books by Raina Telgemeier so I bought this one for her and it did not disappoint. My daughter loved this book and she said she hopes there is a sequel. My daughter will probably read this book several more times as she has done with other Raina Telgemeier books.
