Brought back enjoyable cycling
At 73, with asthma, I was beginning to find my normal mountain bike ride a bit of a problem as the last mile or so is uphill and usually against the wind. I did a great deal of research for an affordable e bike that still had gears to allow normal use but plenty of power. I previously ordered another bike from an independent RCtoy specialist. After a month of failed promises I cancelled and came to Amazon. The Cyclamatic CX3 seemed to have the features I required and the price was reasonable. It arrived far quicker than anticipated (ordered Friday, arrived Tuesday over Bank Holiday weekend). Packaging protected it well (see photos). Assembly was straightforward for anyone with a little knowledge of bike maintenance. The instruction book is generic to various models and gave minimal information. It took longer to remove the protection and unpack than it did to assemble. One thing lacking is information on the LCD display and how to change settings. However, I tracked this down on line (Tianjin APT AP7 display) and now everything is as I want it, in miles and m.p.h. instead of km.The bike is a joy to ride with up to 9 settings for power assist. On the flat or downhill, I just use it as a standard bike, although occasionally put it on level 1 ,2 or 3 just for the fun of it and am rewarded with a surprising kick of speed. When going up steep hills, I've gone up to level 6/7, changed down the gears and cycled up at speed with no problem. At present I've only been out 3 times on it and haven't had to charge the battery, (it has only gone down 1 bar). The bike looks good and seems to be quite strong, although the tube welding is a little obvious and could have been smoothed down before painting.I've put my own gel cover on the saddle as it is not comfortable over bumpy cycle paths, but with the cover it's fine.Overall it seems to be well worth the money and I hope to use it well over the summer and add more as things progress.Several weeks and a lot of miles later I'm still finding it a joy to ride. The knowledge of the motor assistance makes me ride further afield than I would normally, safe in the knowledge I have the motor help to get back. The battery charge lasts for a good 60 miles or more when used sparingly on levels 1-3 for most of the time with occasional use on 5/6 for hills. The gear change is positive and by combining choice of gear with electric power I rarely drop below 12 m.p.h.The brakes are good, if a little noisy and I will need to source brake pads as I'm not sure how long they will last.A year later and it has proved to be one of my best buys. A reliable and enjoyable mode of transport. I do a 15 mile ride 3 times a week for exercise using electric power to assist with hills (or adverse wind conditions). I recharge the battery every 2 weeks or so, before the level drops too low so I know I'll always have power.Brake pads have held up well but they are available at Halfords.

My new favourite thing.
Have been using it for a week now, and I find it to be an excellent bike. It took a while to get all of the protective packaging off before assembly, but everything was strait forward when assembling. And I am very happy with it.

If you cycle daily you must buy an ebike, but maybe not this one!
Purchased this from EBay from the same company "The Sports HQ", but could only leave a brief feedback, Had it a month now So decided to leave a review on here. People regularly look at the bike as I go flying past and often come up to me asking about the bike, I always recommend that they should get an Ebike, I only wish I would have bought one sooner!Pros: fast little bike can really feel the kick from the assist, says Max Speed: 15.5 mph! I am easily able to hit 20.5 miles per hour on the flats, have not tried downhill... yet. Small hills and inclines are nothing anymore as I go flying up them, even the wind cannot stop me. Currently getting about 30 miles per charge and having to charge this twice a week which currently takes about 6 hours each time. with the extra weight of the bike the disk brakes work great, good stopping power I doubt V breaks would have held up. They also forget to mention that the bike comes with free matching front and rear mud guards. not a bad bike for the price anything close to this and you are looking at spending over £1000+Cons: heavier than any normal bike, mainly towards the back end due to the rear hub and battery, seat is a little hard but that should soften over time so I have just put a padded seat cover over it. Also it would be great to go out and do more cycling than a couple of hours of cycling on a single charge.3 month update: Seat still uncomfortably hard, but using a padded seat cover has helped, on full lvl 9 (high) assist getting about 17-18 miles, lvl 5 (mid) assist getting about 25 miles, as for lvl 1 (low) your are better off turning the electrics off as the lvl1 assist feels like your are mildly putting on the breaks very weird.Biggest problem since day 1 the magnetic breaking system, have had to spray this with lubricant more than any other part of the bike, as the weather has been getting colder the magnetic breaking system has been playing up more, will randomly apply breaks when cycling and then will stay stuck after every use of the breaks, lubricant not even working on easing this problem now, cannot remove the magnetic breaking box as it has the main power motor cable running through and the bike frame and I would have to replace all breaking cables and cable casings. So on top of faulty breaks locking up in the cold weather, the Bike electronics does not work if it is below zero/freezing/snowing.currently awaiting a fix... or return to shop :(Summary:Good: for short distances over the summer due to heavy frame and low range battery.Bad: unrideable in the winter due to cold weather jamming the magnetic break system.6 months in: Bike when back to shop took about 7-10 days they replaced the magnetic box minus the magnets. Takes a little longer to stop now, but does not jam up in the cold! Bike came back from repairs with some cosmetic damage to the frame. no reply or apology for damage! just rude!Replaced/upgrade:So the seat was hard and uncomfortable I put a padded seat over the top much better now, or I could have got a new better more comfortable seat. replaced handlebars with wider wrist support handlebars. upgraded the chain set for more teeth and a little more speed Put on wider off road tyres for more grip on road and reduced breaking due to lack of magnets. The mudguards are useless if you are still getting covered in mud up the back and in the face, so I replaced them with full mudguards. so much better now, no more wet back no more stones/glass of mud thrown up in face.20 month Summary:Almost 2 years since I have been using this bike 4-6 days a week, throughout the year the bike has seen snow (which the eletronics does not like), high winds, rain, hail and blazing sun, sometimes all in the one day in the UK ;)have replaced both tyres about once a year due to wear and tear road use.have purchased and replaced 3 chains already, it likes snapping them.***BROKEN again! 29/07/2019But sadly now it looks like the controller that sits below the battery is now gone, the screen does not display anything, no power anywhere in system, the battery still shows 1 red and 3 green led lights, battery has power. nothing else works hard the cycle feels like walking in mud on flats any uphill don't bother.Tried calling the shop twice last week, no service, will try again this week as this bike is dead!17/8/2019Bike is not 2 years old, hey refused to cover the 2 year electrical warranty, so I am having to pay all costs!So... I Purchased new controller from them for £39, took over 2 weeks to arrange and send.21/08/19Controller sent, does not work, nothing works! sending back to shop for full repair, which they refused to cover under the UK 2 Year manufactures warranty, they keep saying they only do a 1 year shop warranty. So I have to pay for all shipping and repairsFaulty goods, poor customer service, Avoid this shop they refuse to uphold the basic 2 year UK warranty1/9/19Shop 247 refuse to repair the bike under 2 year warranty, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!The whole electrical system has been thrown away, keeping the CX3 frame, will be buying ebike kit from elsewhere avoid!Cons:It's a big bike frame, suitable for those closer to 6ft tall, shame the frame is not smaller. If you are less than 5'6 this frame is going to be too big for you to ride comfortably.Even taking off the battery the rear hub is still a heavy weight and you would be better off cycling a NON Ebike.Takes about 6 hours to fully charge,Still gets about 22 miles distance with top assistance, Still does about 20mph on the flats. (not what is advertised)downhill I can get to 28mph, but without any rear suspension the frame really starts to rattle and shake.Recommendations:A Good starter Ebike when it chooses to work, and like all bikes requires regular maintenance to keep running. Ebikes just need a little more maintenance, I've had a few electrical and mechanical problems over the years but all problems so far had been fixable but not anymore. But you will soon dream of something way more powerful... with a throttle.General cost to keep running per year: (if you already have the tools and DIY)new set of wheels, set of inner tubes, new brake pads, new break/gear cables, 1-2 new chains, a can of good quality lubricant/oil.1/9/19Shop 247 refuse to repair the bike under 2 year warranty, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!The whole electrical system has been thrown away, keeping the CX3 frame, will be buying ebike kit from elsewhere avoid! The whole bike electrical system has now been thrown away!Avoid buying from shop 247 Avoid seller, AVOID SELLER!!!
