I debated between four stars and five, but went for the higher number. This is an "almost" flashlight. Almost perfect, but lacks in a few areas: 1) Throw (max. distance of usable light). This one is rated at 400 yards. Good, but not excellent - - - reason for not excellent is the amount of spill (side lighting). Many may not have need of a really long throw, in which case this will be very good. 2) User Interface; the switch is a bit harder to master than many others. To switch from high output (default) to low (still ding-dang bright) is a "half click" which is hard to find. 3) Battery charger; Wall-Wart has the indicator of when it is charged (GOOD) but to plug it in to the flash you have to play with a little rubber plug. Start charging is relatively easy; replacing the plug for use is not so much so. 4) Size; this is a fairly large flashlight. Almost a two hand grip. Do you need one that large?5) Batteries: Uses rechargable Li-Ion batteries to get the immense amount of light. The problem with Li-Ion is their relative problems with very high or very low temperatures. If you live in the AZ desert, or Minnesota cold, DO NOT leave one of these in your car.They seemed to try and be everything for everyone. Impossible task.Good flashlight in this price class.

If you are looking for a flashlight that can cast a beam that will reach all corners of your yard or brighten any work space then this one is it. This light is unbelievably good.I purchased this light as a Christmas gift and noticed the improvements made from the first one I have. Now there is a light that on the switch that lets you know the remaining battery life. The earlier addition didn’t have this and it was impossible to know when the light would need to be recharged.The construction is still top quality with a metal housing and a great feel in the hand. The earlier addition came with a plastic case to hold the flashlight and charger. This addition comes with a cardboard box.The customer service is fantastic. I opened the box to charge the flashlight before I wrapped it and found that after charging the flashlight would not turn on. I thought, oh no, this is going to be impossible to get replaced before Christmas. I wrote an email asking for suggestions on getting the flashlight to operate and a replacement if needed. Well, within 20 minutes I had a response. I couldn’t believe it. They provided some tips I should try and said if the flashlight still wouldn’t work that they would replace it. I had no luck with the tips and now was worried the replacement wouldn’t arrive in time for Christmas. Well, again I was surprised. The replacement came a few days later.Other than the hiccup with the first one this flashlight and the customer service are fantastic. I will definitely continue buying these as gifts. It is a great comfort knowing that if you need a flashlight for any project this one won’t let you down.

I am a flashlight fanatic. I write very few reviews. I have owned dozens of the best flashlights made. The rechargeable Maglite I purchased a couple of years ago was bright, but completely broke in six months. I have now owned this flashlight for a year. I have used it every single night for an hour on the bright mode, walking my dog. I have recharged it now more than 300 times. I have dropped the light several times. The light is blazing bright and turns night into day. I need that to identify scorpions, rattlesnakes and javelinas to protect myself and my dog here in Arizona at night. I have had people stop at night and ask what kind of light I am using because they have never seen anything so bright! After a year and more than 300 hours of use and that many charges, the high beam is not quite as bright, but still more than sufficient. I just ordered a set of new batteries even though I do not need them yet. Buy this light - it is absolutely superb in every way and the best flashlight I have ever owned. I will probably order another one soon, just to make certain I have another one if they stop making this model.

Definitely a big flashlight so carrying it around without a case can be cumbersome. The flashlight itself has good brightness and reach but the durability is lacking. I work in industry. Dropped the light once from about 5 feet up and ever since then it won't stay on or flicker out. Any tap disturbs the brightness or it just goes off completely. Nice flashlight in terms of light itself but not built for impact.

I just received this flashlight and I'm very pleased with it. When you hold it it's quite apparent that it is a quality piece of equipment by the look and feel of it and has the power button on the side of it, where it belongs and not on the back end. It is very bright and illuminates for a long distance. The fact that it's rechargeable is it's greatest asset as far as I'm concerned. I do own a slightly brighter flashlight but it requires relatively expensive one-use batteries that it eats up rather quickly. The nice plastic case and wrist strap with this unit are a real bonus. Overall, out of probably 40 flashlights I own I would rate this one at the top of my list.

I only used this for 10 mins max the first 3 days, after that it never turned on again, tried everything, recharge the flashlight, leave it on charge for days, changed the batteries, as I have a similar light that hose those batteries as well, nothing worked.

This flashlight is definitely worth the money. It would make an awesome gift for anyone. It lights up my yard and my neighbor's yard too. You have 2 options for brightness - both of them throw the light very far. The light itself has some weight to it so you know it's made with quality materials. The plastic case is very nice and heavy duty for safe storage and to keep track of the outlet plug so you can find it easily when you need to re-charge. You won't be disappointed buying this light. I highly recommend it.
