I love this camera for indoor or outdoor. It's my third Alro camera, and I got it because it was so easy to install and set up, it has great quality video and many great functions that bring me a piece and relieve my anxiety when I'm away from home. It can detect a person/ animal, or car in specific zones you choose. You can active the flash at night, and turn in the siren when needed. Clear video and it saves it up to 60 days. I love this camera and recommend it to all my friends.

My first purchase was in 2017 at Costco for five cameras and I’ve been happy ever since. However, I recently purchased a set of two. Arlo gives you 30 days of recording to the iCloud and after the 30 days you have to purchase a plan. Without a plan, you cannot get any recording for motion detection. The cameras that I have purchased back in 2017, do not need a plan and I have motion detection recording, plus a seven day archive of videos. If you look at the screen shot I posted, during the trial period the feature “zones” is active which means motion record, however in the other screen shot “privacy zones” appears and this does not record any motion. I don’t know if this is Arlo making it mandatory to buy a subscription to be able to record any motion detection or if it’s part of the Amazon vendor. I will be returning these two cameras as they do me no good after the trial period is over.

The Arlo Essential Security Camera is a great value for the price. Clear video, reliable motion detection, and easy installation. The 2-way audio and night vision work perfectly. Battery life is decent, especially with optimized settings. Ideal for indoor or outdoor use. Definitely recommend for basic home security needs!

I love this camera! Super easy to set up and works great both inside and outside. The video is super clear even at night with color night vision. I can talk through it and get alerts right away when there’s motion. Totally wireless, so I can put it anywhere. Highly recommend!

Absolutely love the Arlo Essential Outdoor Camera (2nd Gen)! Setup was a breeze—everything you need is in the box, including the mount, charging cable, and screws. The video quality is super crisp, even at night thanks to the color night vision. I feel a lot more secure knowing I can monitor everything from my phone, and the motion detection is accurate without being too sensitive. Battery life has been solid so far, and the design is sleek and modern. If you’re looking for a reliable, easy-to-use outdoor camera, this is definitely a win!

If you’re buying this to use with Apple Home Kit don’t bother. It’s slow when it works and unlike TP Link Kasa you can’t continuously stream with constant interruptions. I also don’t like the fact you have to buy a hub to make it work with HomeKit. Although I understand why, it creates a hassle. That being said, if you’re using it with just the Arlo app, it does work a little better. Motion sensing seems like all or nothing. It detects my pool cleaner as an animal, and when turned on, I receive alerts about every 10 seconds. The pictures are not quite as clear as with Kasa or Ring. The pictures are grainy and choppy. I prefer my ring set up over this for the outside and my Kasa set up for indoors. I had hopes for HomeKit applications using Arlo, but it’s just not worth it yet. Set up is just easy any other notable brand. Features are lacking as some basics are behind a pay wall. I will keep these, as I bought them to test and to use intermittently, however, I will not be purchasing any more until functionality greatly improves.

This is a really great purchase because of the advanced features it offers. The motion detection, in particular, is very helpful. The device is capable of detecting any slight movements, providing a sense of security around my house. Overall, I'm highly satisfied with this product.
