The Wii U is the best Nintendo console since the N64 overall!
At last Nintendo have seen the light and are trying their best to win back some hardcore gamers. We have got Assassin's Creed 3 (Nintendo Wii U), Batman Arkham City: Armored Edition (Nintendo Wii U), Aliens: Colonial Marines - Limited Edition (Nintendo Wii U),Darksiders II (Nintendo Wii U) and many more great games coming to a Nintendo console at last. The Wii U touch screen controller is an amazing piece of kit which is ideal for gamers with partners because you can carry on playing your games when they want to watch their tv. The controller is user friendly for any type of gamer and is light to hold. The twin analog sticks on the controller feel perfect when playing Nintendo Land. The Wii U console feels rather heavey and built to an high standard and makes very little noise. All your old Wii games can be played on the Wii U console and the safe data can be transferred as well. The HD graphics look very nice indeed and at this moment in time the Wii U is the most powerful games console out there. Just like the original Wii Nintendo haven't tryed to make a console which will be as powerful as the PS4 and X-box 720 when they come out. They like to think out the box and come up with different ways for us to play and enjoy our games instead, which is why a long time gamer like myself enjoys a unique gaming experience. The Wii U Control Pad can been tuned in, so that it can work your tv which is pretty cool. Youtube looks stunning on the Wii U with it's HD picture. Have Nintendo done enough to win back more hardcore gamers? We will have to wait and see, but if the Wii U sells as well as the Wii did then they are onto another winner. I must say that some of Wii U updates take a very long time and would highly recommend that you make sure your Wii U Gamepad is connected into the mains when doing a update, so that there are no problems with the battery power running out.Lets talk about the free game Nintendo Land which comes with this Premium Pack and shows off the Wii U's very impressive controller. There are 12 unique games for you to enjoy with your friends and family or by yourself which are as follows.1. The Legend Of Zelda: Battle Quest (1 to 4 players) - This is great team player game where the person using the Wii U Gamepad is a archery and the Wii Remote players get to use a sword. There are lots of enemies that need to be defeated in your quest to find the Triforce.2. Pikmin Adventure (1 to 5 players) - You get to control Olimar or a large Pikmin. There are lots blocks for you to throw and smash. Even more enemies which come in all shapes and sizes. Will you overcome the mad onslaught and make it back to your spaceship safely.3. Metroid Blast (1 to 5 players) - At the moment this is my favourite mode on Nintendo Land. The person with the Wii U game pad gets to control Samus's flying Gunship and other players are on foot. There is a futuristic city for you to hunt eachother down on.4. Mario Chase (2 to 5 players) Mario has to outrun and outsmart his pursuers over a set time.5. Luigi's Ghost Mansion (2 to 5 players) - The person with Wii U GamePad controls a ghost whilst the other players hunt him with flash lights.6. Animal Crossing: Sweet Day (2 to 5 players) - The person with the Wii U gamepad is a village guard whom must stop all the oher players, whom are cute animals from getting the sweets.7. Yoshi's Fruit Cart (1 player) - My seven year old daughter enjoys this mode the most. You must draw a route to pick up all the fruit and then go for the exit. If you don't pick up all the fruit then the exit door will not open.8. Octopus Dance (1 player) - You must follow the instructor's lead with the Wii U gamepad and dance to the rhythm of the beat or the octopus will sweep you off your feet!9. Donkey Kong's Crash Course (1 player) - You will have great fun guiding a cart through a crazy course full of different hazards with the Wii U GamePad.10. Takamaru's Ninja Castle (1 player) - I loved the Wii U GamePad controls for this game as you throw ninja stars at loads of ninjas. You hold the Gamepad sideways and point it towards the tv and slide the stylus upwards to throw a ninja star.11. Captain Falcon's Twister Race (1 player) This is excellent racing fun and is hopefully a good sign that the Wii U will have a full on F-Zero game in the future which would be mind blowing.12. Balloon Trip Breeze (1 player) - Emark on a scenic but risky journey across the sea with only a couple of balloons to keep you aloft. Dodge the obstacles and see how far you can sail the currents. There are other cool things to do in Nintendo Land. At the top of Central Tower you get to play a coin game with coins you have won from playing the other games. If your coins hit all the holes then you win a wacky prize. The Tour Train takes you around to see all the many attractions. If you have your Wii U connected to the internet then other Mii charcters will visit you from around the world , which you can talk to as well. One last thing I want to talk about is Miiverse. I have got myself addictive to doing lots pretty good drawings on Miiverse and at the time of writing, I have had over 4000 yeahs for my efforts. Lots of people enjoy talking about games from the past, present and future. Some artist's drawings will blow you away, so it's well worth checking out. Happy gaming and I feel the future is very bright for the Wii U indeed.

Now the AAA games are on the way & the price has dropped, it's the right time to buy a Wii U
I've been looking into buying a Wii U for a few months now. But I held back due to feeling that the £239 price tag seemed too high. Since I own an Xbox One already, it'd be Nintendo's first party titles only that I'd want the console for. After the review of Super Mario 3D World and then seeing Amazon drop the price to £189.99 for the Premium pack, it took me all of 30 seconds to decide and click buy.I just have the one game so far (Mario 3D), but that game itself is so outstanding that I'm very pleased I bought the Wii U and at a great price. The controller feels light and responsive and being able to play a game on the gamepad is a great feature. Battery life is quite short and lasts around 3 hours. This doesn't bother me as I rarely get the time to play for longer than that in one sitting. Both the graphics and sounds are excellent and the console certainly doesn't seem underpowered when I compare the Wii U to my Xbox One. Mario 3D World looks fantastic in 1080p HD running at 60fps. And it happens to be one of the best, most fun games I've ever played. Just not quite reaching the lofty heights that Mario Galaxy did. But close. At 36 years old I don't find myself interested in Nintendoland or the Mii-Universe, but they are well presented and I'm sure appeals to younger players. The classic games have a lot of appeal and growing up with a SNES, it's good to be able to get those games again. Youtube and Netfilx run well on the system and the upcoming TVii looks promising. The Wii U has received a lot of negative press and Nintendo did make marketing mistakes with the name. Maybe 'Super Wii' would have caught attention better. But things are looking up in 2014 - With Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart 8, Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country, Mario Bros U, Super Smash Bros out or coming soon, I'd recommend a Wii U to any gamers who appreciate fantastic Nintendo games. They're even better now they're in HD.This may be my 'second system', but I can see it getting a LOT of play. No regrets at all buying this console. For the money, the ability to play first party Nintendo games and how much I've enjoyed using the Wii U so far, I'll give it FIVE STARS.
