The New Inductive Study Bible Hardcover – 1 July 2000

If you are studying a precept course (which I am) then this really is a must have book. Each book has its own "At a glance" chart to fill in, theres planty of space in the margins to write notes and its full off much needed and interesing facts on each book and on the people and history etc, There is word studies and maps and explanations on all aspects of the precept study courses. I have found it extremely useful and invaluable.

Years ago, I had a Bible that was in single columns, rather than the double ones that have dominated the format for decades. I'm amazed that this happened, but I think I left it at a conference. I wasn't able to get another one like it and had to settle for second best.Recently, I felt that I needed to get a new Bible. (I was borrowing one from the church.) I wasn't sure which translation would suit me the best. I'd used the NIV since the mid-1980s, but felt I needed a change. I did some research online to learn more about the available translations. Then I found a website that would send me a verse everyday in the translation almost of my choice. I decided to see what the NASB was like. The New American Standard was considered to be very accurate in the 1970-80s, but it was so literal that it was difficult to read. The newer version removed that awkwardness.After several weeks of daily Bible verses, I decided to get the NASB. I'm enjoying it very much. I still remember much of the NIV, and so it's interesting to be able to compare that translation with the one that I'm now reading.There are enough Bible websites to enable you to sample various versions. If you're thinking about getting a new Bible, then I recommend that you visit a few of those sites and compare what is available. If you decide on the NASB and you want the single column format, then you'll be very pleased with this one.One thing that might put you off is that it has American spellings. That doesn't bother me because I grew up in the States. :)

The instructions on how to read and understand the bible and the photo' s and descriptions of places. A beautiful well put together bible.

Excellent study Bible. I'd not used the inductive method before and found the instructions very clear and easy to follow. I'm loving studying the Bible this way, would recommend it to anyone!

As far as what you read from other comments, it's definately a very good tool for knowing God's words. It's just a bit too long for waiting to be delivered. Still highly recommend this bible.

This is a fantastic bible. It has really helped me to get into the word of God in a new and different way. There are full instructions at the start about how to use it and carry out an inductive study and more instructions at the start of each book to help you study the book specificaly.

Very clear and helpful. Exactly what I expected and looking forward to really being Ble to study. Already getting so much more out of the bible. Great product.

Was very pleasantly surprised to see the quality of the beautifully done full colour maps and illustrations. Easy to read text and font, and good instructions. Love the soft cover. The only thing I would have liked more would be thicker pages, wider margins, and extra marker ribbons, but I didn’t want a large heavy book, and this is a really great study bible that is comfortable to hold and carry around (it isn’t a huge heavy tome textbook, requiring a table top to study on.) If you’re looking for similar qualities, I give High recommendations for this one!

Wow !! I ordered a " Used - good condition" and a received a BRAND SPANKING NEW EDITION" wrapped in clear wrapping, band new. I am so happy !!I should have bought this bible years ago...I wanted to...but didn't. well, now is the day ! it is wonderful. It teaches you HOW TO STUDY YOUR BIBLE, its fun. Read the instruction that go with each book of the bible, and do what you can. don't try and do it exactly like the author says, you may not be able too, and it will cause you to be frustrated. No, just do what you can. And over time you will be able to do more and more of her examples. There are a lot of helps in the bible. Maps are excellent. I really like where the author has given much information in the O.T. Sanctuary, Kings and the Prophets at that time. Concordence is very good. Wide margins to write the information she suggested. I write all my notes in pencil. At the end of each chaper is a blank outline to write all the information that you gathered from the book that you read. I am going to Xerox those while they are clean, and write on the Xerox copy only. Because as we grow in Gods word we have a deeper understanding. Some of the harder books, Revelation, Ezekiel, the author has pre-filled in some of the places in the " At a glance" worksheet. You'll need the help. Like the layers of an onion, you will learn this over a period of months. One layer at a time. As you learn one step and work towards the second, keep it in prayer, ask God to help you understand !! and HE Will. !! Get God involved in this study. He is the only one who can open your mind to understand what to do next. Within the 1st hour I got a lot out of my bible study !! Her margin references are very good too.!! Not a lot of them, which is good, because that can be tedious. A computer is better for this. I have purchased...but haven't received it yet, Jerome Smith's Cross Reference Guide to the bible. Which has all the margin texts written out, which I believe will be faster. we'll see. I highly recommend this inductive bible if you are serious about wanting to learn to read the bible and have a wow experience. This bible will go with any bible study you have at church.... or a personal study. This bible teaches you how to observe the text - so that you get more out of your study time. You'll be seeing things you had not seen before, and that's usually what you will write in the margin. You think that you know a text - say, the gospels, we've all read them 10 times in our lives, but what's absolutely amazing is what we don't catch until you are shown what to look for , what was a trickle is now an ocean. Its the neatest feeling - when your mind just opens up. We were happy with the trickle, priding ourselves that we read and understand what our Lord wanted to say, well, now you are going to have such a deep insight, and it will be with you several days, you will want to study more and more. There is nothing like understanding - Proverbs tells us " with all your getting- get understanding !!" This Inductive Bible will do just that. You will have many Wow moments. I don't do the coloring that she suggests, I think its messy and silly. Just do a few of the suggestions at a time and read the marginal references, and over time you will be able to do more. its fun. !!

Great Bible, good translation, margins a bit too small for my taste, but that's ok. The introductions to the way the books should be studied are superfluous, but some might find it helpful.
