Absolute junk, threw it in the skip last week
I have never before purchased on the internet a product of such poor quality. When it arrived, (not in the time stated) I unpacked it to find that one end of the strap on the carrying bag was not attached. Ok it wasn't a problem, I always carry umbrellas in my rod bag anyway. So I've taken it fishing and selected a swim on the lake with the wind at my back; just the sort of conditions the brolly was made for!!! I've positioned the brolly in the upright position and proceeded to fish, after about 10 minutes the slider which holds the brolly open slipped down and collapsed the brolly around me. Thinking I hadn't locked it up properly I carefully re set it, after another 10 minutes, down it came again.I was getting a bit annoyed by now so I decided to fit the wind barrier I unwrapped it only to find the barrier doesn't fit as shown in the photograph, it isn't long enough, the brolly has to be in the tilted position with the lower edge about a foot off the floor; okay I thought, that should solve the problem of the brolly keep collapsing. I connected the wind barrier to the edge of the brolly using the toy town zip, which I discovered was only fixed around the edge where it touched, there were gaps!! I pegged it down using all the loops provided and settled down to start fishing again. After about 25 minutes there was a slightly robust gust of wind and I heard a loud noise behind me and the wind barrier was blowing about in the wind, thinking one of the pegs had come out I got up to investigate only to find that the edging around the bottom of the wind barrier, (which the loops were fixed to) had completely ripped off.By now I was getting extremely annoyed, I unzipped the now completely useless wind barrier and deposited it in the on site rubbish bin, folded down the rubbish brolly and reverted to my trusty 20 year old wave lock.A little later another angler came along and asked where I'd got the big brolly from..................I said he hadn't done me any harm so I wouldn't tell him! I kid you not, my antics with that brolly would have put Laurel and Hardy to shame. What an absolute load of rubbish, I didn't realise you could still buy products that badly made and dishonestly marketed.
