It does a great job cleaning up dirt and pet hair! It's wonderfully quiet and powerful enough to pick up crumbs whether they fall on the wooden floor or the carpet. Also, it's great for touch-ups when you don't want to grab the big vacuum but you see some dirt collecting around the edges. Empty it regularly for best performance. Overall, I would say this handheld vacuum is on par to slightly superior to other handhelds at this price point.
