Good Knife for the $$$
I don't know what blade PenoyDragon88 was looking at when he sent in his review, but this Remington blade is not the same blade as the M-tech. For $22.35 plus free shipping at the time I ordered, this is really a great knife for the money. It is sharp enough for most folks out of the box, but a little work on a fine stone followed by a good stropping and it is REALLY sharp now. 440 stainless will hold an edge for a while but takes a bit more work to sharpen than a high carbon blade. It is a tad small and lightweight for a true survival knife but Remington does not make that claim. I have a couple packed away in different bug-out bags. The sheath is nothing to write home about and could stand to be a little tighter on the fully inserted blade...I give it a minus one star for the sheath.I removed the scales on one of mine and did a black paracord wrap on the handle, which looks and feels great...only problem is the snap on the sheath no longer fits around the handle. I fixed that problem by cutting the stitching and removing the snap loop, then cut two small slots in the upper loop of the sheath and doing a loop and knot fastener for the handle from black paracord. That works just fine now but the blade rattles a bit in the sheath now so it's not very stealthy. Again, for the money, this knife is a great buy.

BLACK BEAUTY !!
I caught this knife on sale for $12. I can honestly say, you won't get more knife for so little money anywhere. It's not only inexpensive but full of excellent features and usefulness. It's called a sportsmans knife but has a definite tactical edge to it also. The intermediate blade size is pefect for many uses such as camp, bushcraft, survival and tactical. Not excellent at all but can do it all. This kinfe is heavy for it's size, about 9oz, so ultralight backpackers beware... but I like that, it feels like a tool in the hand. Most of the weight is in the wonderful, full tang handle, I like that too. Lots of knives are skeletonized or have minimized tangs to save weight but not this knife, it's ready for some abuse. The more than 5" edged blade has a dropped clip point and a very slight hollow grind with 1.5" of deep serrations that are more suitable to cutting wood than cord, strapping or wire. The tang is about 5/32" thick and extends this thickness 1 3/4" beyond the handle. The blade wasn't real sharp but I like the slight angle and it takes an edge easily.I love the handle. The removeable scales are rubber coated aluminum with smooth beveled edges making it very comfortable and grippy even when wet. The tang protrudes past the scales providing a tactical pommel with lanyard hole. The Ricasso has an upper and lower quillon that act as a thumb ramp and guard. I like the lower quillon which prevents your hand from sliding forward on the blade but not the upper quillon. Yes, it provides a thumb ramp for tactical purposes but I much prefer it to be flat which is better for camp/survival tasks like batoning. This is the only thing I don't like about this knife but it's a small issue and doesn't subtract from this great deal. There is thumb jimping which crosses the scales and also on the thumb ramp itself. The same style of jimping exists in the palm area and there is fine jimping on the lower quillon to help prevent your index finger from slipping. This knife is suitable for spear making. With handles removed you can lash it to a stick with cordage. You can also create a new handle with paracord for a different look and feel. The cordura nylon sheath holds the knife just fine but is nothing to write home to Mom about. Overall, a fantastic knife for the price! I definitely recommend it.

Same blade as M-Tech Camo Full Tang Survival Knife
As the title says it's the exact same blade as M-tech Full Tang Camo Survival Knife (10.375-Inch) , but M-Tech's version is cheaper at 2/3 the price (that's including some other retailers like wal-mart). The only difference is the sheath. Which in my opinion doesn't really matter or justify the price difference since both sheaths are low-medium quality. So I was kinda upset when I saw the same knife after I had removed it and had already started doing some test cuts. ONWARD TO THE KNIFE!The knife itself is pretty decent out of the package, capable of shaving the arm hairs off and easily cutting through a single piece of phonebook paper while holding the paper in mid-air. The serrated portion of the blade is holding up pretty well after breaking down 60 cardboard boxes within the first week of having it (yay for recycling!). The thickness/construction is fairly decent also since the blade has very little bend. Also this would make a decent fighting knife as well if on a budget.Overall this is a decent fixed blade (if you haven't noticed how often I used that word). However it is a little bit overpriced, in my opinion, by Remington. You're essentially buying the name brand of Remington printed on the knife if this was chosen over M-Tech. But hey, people can spend their money the way they want.

A good blade
I bought this knife because one of my friends had it and I really liked it. It is a good knife, not too heavy but not to light. It's neither too long or short but just the right size. The shape of it is just perfect for gripping regular or downwards. It fits nicely in the contours of your hands. It also arrived sharp. The only problems I have with it is that the blade dents a bit easily and the paint wears of pretty fast. After a few weeks it'll look dark gray instead of black. But if you want a cool knife that looks nice and don't plan on using it in extreme situations or places, this knife is for you
