I was so disappointed to find that these beautiful curtains are not true blackout curtains. I put one up (while there was no direct light coming through) and light showed through the fabric. Normally this entire wall of windows faces directly east so I imagine quite a bit will come through under those conditions. I have a neurological disease that makes me very sensitive to light. I wake up suddenly (and stay awake) with even a glimpse of light. The reviews were great and people recommended the dark color for maximum blockage. I bought the dark gray and they are beautiful. Material great, very well made. The sheen of the material is gorgeous. They would be perfect if I didn't have this frickin' disease. If you want serious room darkening curtains, these are great. But know that about about 20% (not 1%) will of direct light will shine right in.

I bought this drapes for my son’s room, he works night and sleeps during the day. This drapes exceeded my expectations. If you need a real blocker this are the ones for you. Also the quality of the fabric is very durable. And the style gives the room a very modern look. I’m buying this again but different color for my guest room. I recommend this 100%.

I originally purchased two packets to add to some floor to ceiling length drapes I had functioning as a divider in our MBR. I was so pleased with the quality I went ahead and ordered an additional 2 packages. I combined two panels of the 63" in order to make the 120" panels I required for my project. So having picked these apart, they are SOOOO much better quality than similar "light blocking" curtains I bought elsewhere for more. These panels do a great job of blocking out light from 4 windows and a french door and well as help minimize the heat felt from those west facing windows in our Texas heat. I am much happier with the quality of these replacement panels and would buy again for any future needs in our home.

Per the description: “Each Shade Has 3 Layers and the Midlle Layer is Made from Special Material with a Blackout Coating”Not true. This was a single layer of fabric. It is a heavier weight fabric, but nothing thick or layered enough to come close to providing black out.This is a lighter color, but *most* of the blackout capabilities *should* come from layer/construction of the curtain, not the color chosen.The only reason the room appears as dark as it does in the pictures is that the walls & ceiling are painted black.Returning them.Update: The second picture is a side-by-side of the new *true* blackout & then this product. The new one is also a white color. As you can see it’s a vast difference.

I love these curtains!!! I tried them out in our bedroom and they blackout light really well! So I ordered more! They are now hanging in my master bathroom, dining room, living room, piano room and two other bedrooms. Not only do they block light when you need it (and in our living room, I even put them up to cover our glass front door and side windows to block the sunlight that makes it tough to see the TV screen!), but they also keep in heat in the winter and add another layer of insulation between us and the inevitable leaks around doors and windows! They look really beautiful, too. You will have to iron them before you hang them, to get the best look. They look great hanging straight or pulled back at the sides!

Got these for our sons house, they work great on keeping out the light and have helped with the air control around the windows. They are heavy and durable. Hang beautiful and they don't look heavy hanging which makes the room look bigger. Great buy.

I'm one of these people who like to sleep in a room that's as dark as I can get it. I get that with these curtains - the only light that gets through is the very little bit that leaks in from around the edges and top. Otherwise, they completely black out the room, and it allows me to be able to sleep in on those times where I get to bed really late, in the wee hours of the morning.Keep in mind, there's nothing fancy about these curtains - mine are a navy blue, and the grommets are a brushed nickel looking metal, but they do exactly what I wanted, and that was to block out the light coming in through the window.

Got the wine red and i have just opened them. They feel soft and are a nice colour. However, there are small black stains on both curtains. I might just wash them and see if they come out. Not worth sending them back when they only cost $7.50. Even if the stains don't come out, I'll probably just use them anyway because they are going up in a room that only i use and they are not super noticeable. Update. Have put these up and they actually do a good job of darkening the room. Not complete blackout but i wasn't expecting nor wanted that. For the price these are great.
