Disney Princess Movie Theater Storybook & Movie Projector Hardcover – June 1, 2002

This is a frustrating toy in that it has tremendous appeal and a great concept but it does not work terribly well. A large hardback book contains five condensed stories (Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White) and is attached to a special holder for a mini-movie projector and two mini-reels for each story. In the book, colorful illustrations and large-print words are accompanied by margin pictures showing which of 16 projector images complements that portion of the text. This is all done very well; however, the projector is SO mini that it needs to be very close to the wall or screen in order to be seen (2-3 inches) and the image is very small. Also, the room needs to be very dark, which makes it difficult to read the story, even with the projector's second light turned on. The best way to use this would be to have your child sit in a completely dark closet looking at the pictures while you sit outside reading it loudly :-)This was a great idea but does not work too well, unfortunately. Definitely do not pay full price!

Great product! My four year old daughter reads and projects the story on her wall every night before bed. Great way for her to wind down after a long day! Small but clear picture....

All the pieces were there, which is what we were looking for, since we had a book but not the projector.It worked great, even the little reading light that comes on.

Horrible! It was a gift to my niece. The package was opened and projector taken from it. It was delivered that way! From reading the other reviews I guess it wouldn’t have mattered much anyway! So wrong!I did not know what had happened until I was visiting. They explained they didn’t know how to use it so they went to take it out and that is when they realized a projector should have come with it.Such a horrible thing to do and so misleading! Corrupt!

The summary: buy it as toy -don't expect to get a lot of reading out of it.My child loves this book. She likes the Disney Princesses, and gets a big kick out of operating the projector and making up stories for the pictures. I agree with other reviewers, the light level in the room has to be too low to read in order to view the pictures, which right there defeats the purpose of the set, which is to be able to read the book AND view the projected images at the same time. Maybe an older kid that is not that interested in the pictures would do better with the reading side of it.I still give it a high mark because of the many hours my kid has spent playing with it. She is rough on the projector and the disks and they have taken it well so far.

The projection is really, really fuzzy and tiny. You have to be sitting super close to even make the story pictures out. Kind of dissapointing for a book that was nearly $20.

My daughter, age 4, loves these projector books. We have no trouble getting her to go to bed because we read one story every night. Yes, the projectors vary from book to book as to how good they are, but she loves them. We just take a flashlight with us to read the books. She loves the princesses and the stories not real long and match up with the movies.

娘にいつだかクリスマスプレゼントのひとつに購入したと思います。小さい丸いディスクをはめて壁にうつしますが、壁にかなり近寄らないと、映像がよくわかりません。天井になんて、まったく無理。ＴＤＲで買うライトのイラストの写るのを想像していたので、ガッカリでした。本自体のサイズが大きくて、正直保管に困ります。円形のディスクもうっかり立てておいておくと外れて落ちてます。横において保管です。プリンセス好きな子なら、自分で部屋の電気を消して映写のうんぬんはともなく、雰囲気を楽しめると思います。プリンセス好きでおもちゃとして、ディズニー好きさんのコレクションならオススメ。映写を楽しむには不向きです。

プリンセスに憧れている４歳の娘にクリスマスプレゼントとしてあげました。絵もきれいでスライドもあってとこの値段ではすばらしいのですが、私が大変！軽い気持ちであげたのに英語の苦手な私に『読んで読んで』と・・・当たり前のことですが頭を悩ませながらがんばっています。

5つの物語が収められた本書の裏表紙部分が、大型の台紙(320×325mm)を兼ねています。台紙の左上には、大人の手のひら程(100×80×40mm)のピンク色の小型プロジェクターが、左下には、500円玉大のカラフルな10個のホイールが付属しています。プロジェクターは、取り外して使うことができますが、手で持つとブレたり、疲れたりするので、台紙にセットしたまま使用した方がよさそうです。高さ調整には、梱包されていた段ボール箱を使いました。プロジェクターには、乾電池が内蔵されており、透明の絶縁テープを引き抜くと、すぐに使える状態となります。ネジ止めされた電池ボックスは、乾電池を誤って取り出す心配も無く、安心です。ホイールには、とても小さなスライドが、放射状に配置されています。プロジェクターには、黄色いフォーカスつまみがあり、わずかですがピント調整ができます。（※昼間は、使えないかもしれません。）

すばらしいの一言です。ビデオやＤＶＤ等のメディアが溢れすぎていて忘れていました。私はただそれらを買って見せるだけの駄目な親でした。何十倍も価値があリます!親が寝る前に話して聞かせる物語...私達の小さい時はそうしてくれたものでした。これは更に暗い部屋の壁に映る映像が加わって想像力が掻き立てられます。きっといい思い出になってくれると確信します。鮮明さはもう一つですが色彩は意外ときれい。この値段で６話もあることを考えれば十分です。できればシリーズ化と日本語化してほしい。

丸いフィルムをセットすると壁などに絵が映し出されます。とても小さな光りなので天井などには写りませんが、2歳になる子供が一人でフィルムの出し入れや映像を見て楽しんでいます。ストーリーも短縮されており、リトルマーメイド、美女と野獣、シンデレラ、白雪姫、眠れる森の美女が一冊にまとまっています。小さなうちはシアターとして、大きくなったら本でと2倍楽しめそうです。
