Great resource for science teachers!
This book is a great resource for teachers looking to differentiate instruction in the science classroom. While the book is targeted towards middle school science teachers, many of the activities can be used at the high school level as well (which is what I teach). The activities are clear, concise, and meet the needs of a wide variety of learners. I would definitely recommend this text to teachers seeking a differentiation resource.

A little less than I hoped.
I bought this book because I was looking for more ideas and methods for my co-taught physical science classes. (I am the general ed teacher.) After a cover-to-cover read, I really cannot tell you that I have more ideas than when I started. But I will give it to my school library as a loaner for other teachers who may want to read it.

Not bother
This gives nothing more than what I already know about differentiation. It also have ideas that are too simplistic and almost silly.

Exactly what the middle school science teacher needs
As a member of a child study team, I am always happy to refer special resources to the teachers with whom I work. In the past, Joan D'Amico's books have been met with tremendous excitement and enthusiasm so it was with great anticipation that I awaited her newest book, "Differentiated Instruction for the Middle School Science Teacher." I was certainly not disappointed. This book includes learning tools for children who are gifted, average, learning disabled and physically disabled, in a very interactive and creative format. The activities are fun and the children become so involved that they forget that the purpose is to learn, although that is exactly what they are doing. This latest book is one that I look forward to recommending and one that I know the teachers will be thrilled to use.Anne Gunar, L.C.S.W.

Unimpressed
This book doesn't have anything especially creative or special about it... it just a has a few basic readings, worksheets, and activities based on common science topics. I couldn't find a single thing to use out of this book, I just went back to what I had been using before. If you want to do fun, interesting activities with you students, this is not the book you need.

Another great-instructive Book for the classroom
This book helps make teaching fun and provides a wealth of interactive lessons for all types of kids to bring teaching Science "alive". The creative ideas and lessons presented here are consistent to the whole Differentiated Instruction for the Middle School series books and is a great way to reach out to all your students.
