Mike's Guide to Better Slot Play

The ONE book you NEED to Play Slots Correctly!
Surprisingly good! There are no oddball methods presented in this book. He does not "guarantee" that'll you'll become a winner. In fact, you're guaranteed to lose in the long run because the long-term payback is always negative. But you CAN get the most "bang for your buck" by using the strategies presented in this book. In the short-run, you can even leave with some of the casino's money!Honestly, this is the only book you really need to read to get the most out of slot play. Its well thought out and will decrease the edge the casino holds over the slot player.Highly Recommended! Best of Luck!

Mike's Guide to Better Slot Play
I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciate this book. Many of the suggestions that Mike made I had come to on my own from playing the machines. What he added was an explanation of why I would lose on certain machines. I read the book a second time to ensure I understood the math behind his conclusions. I plan on playing tomorrow and am anxious to try Mike's method.I do have some questions, though. In the section "What to Do When You Have a Winning Machine", page 63, I can't get the math to add up. Mike sets limits when he has tripled the amount he decided to put at risk (for example, $5 at risk.) However, then his lower limit is about twice what he started with. He uses $20 as an example, with an at-risk amount of $5. So, if you triple the $5 at risk, 5 X 3 = $15. This $15 is lower than the new lower limit of the $20 x 2 = $40. $15 <$40. One can't set a low limit of $40 when one has only $15 in the bank. This is probably a semantic problem, but I'd like clarification on this. One other suggestion is to include a chapter on Video slots, since many find these slots to be the most entertaining. Mike included a few comments on Video slots in the Reel section, but it was unclear whether one should always use the 9's rules with lines as well as reels.Overall, though, this book was very helpful in understanding the machines better. From now on I will be sure to check the rules and payouts of the machines before playing. Thanks, Mike.

May not win big, but I've been able to at least break even!
The author doesn't claim to make you rich playing slots, only to help your money last longer and 'maybe' come out ahead. I've been testing his methods for a couple months now and they honestly do work.To sum up his book, it's simply about betting less lines, but max multiplier. Look for machines that give you a bonus round with a scatter rather than on a payline. I've hit some pretty big bonuses by betting 10 or 20X's! Unfortunately, a lot of the new slots machines force you to bet max lines instead of a lower number of lines with max multiplier.Even though I gave away the one tip, you really should buy this book if you're into slots for fun and want to learn how to make your money last. There are some important tidbits he shares and some math which backs it up. I can tell you though, I took $200 into 2 casino's today, played nothing but slots, and came home with $220. And most of all, I had fun, which is the reason most of us play right? (OK, I know deep down you're hoping to hit that $1,000,000 bonus, but you know what the odds of that are.) When I deviate from his advice, I usually lose. (Stay away from Deal or No Deal, while fun, it's a money sucker!)It's a quick read. Buy it. Read it on the plane to Vegas and have fun!

old news, new technology has taken over the pay outs.
Sum reviews are correct that you can google most of this information, I have. I believe his information is correct, but I think it’s dated, I believe the casinos can and do control the payouts, random number generators or not, there’s no way that all the machines are on a cold spell like they are on weekends or when there is an event going on, example— ya go to casino and spend $400, they may give you a $300 hit, that ll be it for the night, and you won’t hit much past 9pm, they don’t want you leaving with any money. I experience this most times I go, my girl friend plays dollars and it funny, she sits and hits jackpots often, sumtimed 3 or 4 a night, while the other players playing that bank hit Nada, nothing, they want her coming back. Watch the reels on the old 3 reel slots, you can see when they have moved the stops, usually the last reel, it’ll jump or skip, should have been a hit, so in reality you playing the casinos computer or whatever it is they are doing to Take all the money. I play mostly indian casinos,

This Advice Works!
Take it from a mathematician. This advice Mike gives in this book will definitely make you a better slot player. Simply by preventing you from doing foolish things, your money will last longer in the casino and you'll have a much better chance of going home with some winnings. He states clearly that there is NO WAY TO BEAT A SLOT MACHINE. But he also says that betting the max is the surest way to lose your money in a hurry, and that playing the progressives is definitely not in your best interest. He tells you which machines to play, how to find them, and how to bet on them. By using Mike's betting strategy, which is not difficult to do (there's really no mathematical formula or anything), you will curb the odds a little more in your favor and greatly extend your playing time (which, of course, increases your chances of hitting a jackpot). The beginning section of the book takes you inside a slot machine and shows you how they work, along with a brief history on the slot machine. That part is very interesting too. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and the money I spent on it was money I saved the next time I went to a casino. Highly recommended for anyone who plays the slots on a regular basis.

Contradictions galore
He spends a great deal of time illustrating how the random number generator works making each spin of the machine independent of the rest but then looks for a machine that is paying out consistently which will rarely happen with random spins. I have been playing machines for years and have seen, many times, machines that will not pay out for 40 spins then hit a big win and others that hit a few wins up front only to not show again. For me, best style of play is to give a machine a fixed number of spins, say 50, and if you go above your starting bank, move to another machine. Set a win target and make it reasonable, leave when you hit it. One good thing in this book is the section on lines, reels and multipliers.

Slot Guide
This book was a quick read. Nothing new in here. Most of the info is Common or basic knowledge to anyone who visits a casino regularly. Strategies in this book may save you money but wont help you strike it rich at the slots. The authors slot techniques do not apply to some of the newer video slots machines. Reccomended for beginers.
