KYDEX Sheet - 0.060" Thick, Black, 8" x 12", 4 Pack

This Kydex was super easy to work with to make these axe sheaths. I just heated it up to 300 degrees on a cookie sheet in my oven and then pressed it around the axe in a DIY press for 15 min. Drilling 1/4 holes for rivets went smoothly with a plastic bit. Took rivets fine. Was easy to score and break with a sheetrock knife.

We bought this product to help us custom mold parts for our FIRST FTC Robotics competition. This stuff is easy to cut, and easy to mold with a simple heat gun (I did not try a hair dryer, although Im certain it would work).Our students were able to achieve the custom parts very quickly, and made things very light weight, as we had a weight limit to adhere to. We will be buying more of this for next season as well

Forms nicely with little effort. I used it for keel guard on my kayak. Works great.

Bought to try out how the kydex would form and to see its rigidity and its performance before paying for nicer sheets. It did its job and let the left overs for other smaller projects.
