like everything, there is a knack to using them ...
For the price this product is spot on...Now, I know some reviewers have had problems with these hooks and not being able to lift extreme weights with them. I'm here to say that they are not strictly correct in their bias. I am not a tall person with a huge hand size and I had no problems lifting 180kg from the word go...like everything, there is a knack to using them and getting the most out of them. If you are small or have small hands then wear them further away from your wrist...If you are tall and have large hands wear them closer to your wrist.Next, to lift heavy be prepared for a vast amount of discomfort as the more weight you lift the tighter these things need to be on your wrist. Also think logically, if you can only lift 100kg as a pb then hooks or straps are not going to allow you to lift 200kg. They will allow you to lift heavier and easily break your pb but they will not give you super powers. But stick with it and get used to the discomfort and you'll soon be lifting far greater weights. As an aside, if you are small and can't stand the discomfort or soreness caused by using the hooks try putting wrist wraps on first and then put the hooks on top.

Strong and comfortable. Just perfect!!
I have used straps for my deadlift or weighted split squats but always struggle them to first wrap around the rod and to be honest inspite of other saying they prefer straps over these, I think these are much better than straps because:(a) padding is much comfortable around your wrist than straps;(b) hook is strong and size of an olympic rod, which means no more unnecessary pressure on your grip;(c) No more pressure on your forearms and you can concentrate on the muscle group you want to and increase the reps or weights. The only downside I can say is that hook might be big for someone with small hands and manufacturer should think of making them in other sizes, so that other can benefit and do not shy away from buying them.Any one who is serious about lifting more weights or wants to concentrate on the exact muscle group without wasting energy, should go ahead and buy them. I definitely recommend them.

Save your wrists, lift heavy and focus on the Muscle!
These grips are fantastic for your compound lifts. Don't get me wrong I think it's great to have natural string grip but sometimes this can be detrimental to your training and trying to isolate certain muscle groups. This is where the Heavy duty hooks come on. These allow you to relax your grip and really engage the muscles your trying to work and focus on. These are perfect for Deadlifts, Rack pulls and all sorts of pulling motions they will really help you focus on lifting heavier and relaxing your forarms. Iust say these were a great buy plus for the price they are very sturdy too!

Superb in many ways, but sized for olympic bars, so not absolutely ideal for standard barbells or chinning bars.
These are serious lifting straps, over-built and very heavy-duty. Also, extremely comfortable. They MAY be designed for olympic barbells, though, because the hooks seem intended for a larger diameter bar. I use a standard barbell, the kind you get with your first free weights set, probably NOT ideal for 140kg plus and while there is no danger of dropping the weight, it would be more secure with a fatter bar. This also holds true with my chinning bar - these ought to be perfect, but again, the diameter of the hook curve is much larger and this compromises their effectiveness much more than for deadlifts. Regarding deadlifts, I used 150kg for the first time in years, and there is no doubt in my mind that these straps could handle a great deal more.I paid £24.99 for mine and good as these are, I would have baulked at the £46 quoted here.

If you are looking for an alternative to lifting straps then these are a must !!!
I used to use straps for my deadlifts or rack pulls or really anytime during back day that grip started to fatigue. The problem with straps is that you can only really set one hand well...the other you do one handed so i always struggled to get it tight so i looked for an alternative....I'll be honest i didnt expect much from these. But they are honestly amazing, extremely comfortable and not only that i was able to put an extra 40kg kilos on my deadlifts and it was always my grip that failed.I was also able to really feel like i was pulling with my elbow which enables you to really focus on the muscle working. There was also not issue with heavy weight at all, I personally deadlift 180kg and the straps coped with this no problem.I would 100% recommend.

Great for lifting weights, great for carrying stuff, takes strain away from fingers
Excellent lifting hooks. Sturdy, comfortable and strong. I use these for lifting weights and also carrying any heavy equipment with a handle. Works very well for both purposes. Almost completely takes weight away from fingers so great not only for resistance training (deadlifts, pull ups especially) but also for musicians like me carrying heavy amplifiers to avoid finger strain injuries. I've just bought a second pair as the velcro eventually became unreliable on my first pair after two years of being put on and taken off about 25 times a week which I think is a pretty reasonable lifespan considering their heavy use!

Good solid kit - just minor ideas for improvement
Good solid grips. Look and feel professional. Looks stylish.Only two suggestions for improvement@1. the diameter of the metal grip is very large (presumably to accommodate some serious power lifting bars) - it is much greater than anything I can lift in my gym (machines & freeweights) - it would be good to have an option of a smaller diameter so it would sit tighter around the weight bars most people use2. on some angled bars (e.g. convergent chest press machine) it's metal-on-metal and the grip slides along the bar - it would have been good to have some rubber or similar padding on the inside face of the hook so that it doesn't slip
