For a tiny little erotic story, it sure was disappointingly stupid. I started skimming a quarter of the way into it and stopped halfway.First, The set up was all about making sure readers understood that the female protag was ignorant and undersexed seemingly by choice. Because she’s a “good girl” who “don’t know nothin about anything but missionary”. In the era of google, she can’t find pornhub? Please.Oh, that’s right, she lives in a “trail” park, but not a skanky one, a nice one. (without WiFi?) One that apparently comes with a backyard fence? A fence that the guest sets to fixing on day 1, after honing his carpentry skills as a hobbyist while deployed to the Middle East. Sure. Lots of spare lumber about the non-specific desert for soldiers to hone their skills on. Why put in such a specific detail that makes no sense? Just so a dude has something to do on the day he’s not banging his hostess?She’s comically ignorant and is clearly a caricature, not a person. I don’t understand how a married woman who met her husband in high school could have had 2 prior “long term sexual relationships”. She’s also into her husband but they don’t have sex much? Huh? And she doesn’t masturbate because that’s sick & wrong. But her husband leaves and on night one she cracks out the sexy nightie that’s too sexy to wear for her husband yet she wanders about in it in front of her guest to feel sexy? And starts masturbating with the door open.We know the door is open because *in the first person POV of the hostess* we find out that guest boi is watching her without her knowledge. This is just straight up terrible writing. Switch POV or don’t use first person. This was so wrong I started skimmming.Next thing I know, ignorant girl is talking dirty to the guy she’s just told to go away while physically being welcoming. Two problems there. Consent is given the problematic “I won’t do anything you don’t want” brushoff AFTER she has verbally declined sex. If you mean yes, don’t say “no”. Say “maybe”, say “I shouldn’t”, dance around it if the character you are writing would be skittish. But DO NOT give me (or her, for that matter) the “I’ll stop when you tell me to” speech 30 seconds after not stopping when she tells him to. No, no, f-ing no. Also, anyone as ignorant about sex as this lady is, does not bust out with “Ream me” in her first encounter. She either has the knowledge and vocab of an experienced (if tamely) married woman or she doesn’t but if she doesn’t (and this one doesn’t) she can’t spontaneously burst out with words and ideas she doesn’t know. She has to learn them first, and she doesn’t.I noped out right after this because I could not make any part of this story fit to any other part of the story. A tiny bit of care and editing and a lot less caricature of “bored ignorant woman” would have done a world of good. This story pushed way to many of my hot buttons (anachronistically sex ignorant woman/ bad acting (ha!) wrt consent/ stupid actions/ bad craft) for me to enjoy. If you want to read about someone too stupid or mean to wear a nice nightie for her own husband and who rejects oral with her husband but somehow likes anal with a stranger, then this is for you. It is not for me.

I gave it a star because it is obvious that this author can write. However, it definitely shouldn't be erotic. This is sexy or erotic. The writing presented the sex with such clinical detachment that I felt like I was reading non-fiction. The writing, I would give a four star, however; for content I am being generous by giving it a 1/2 star.

Great author. Tells all you need to know about the subject. I've ordered every one of her other books.
