Sturdy. Easy To Use. Flat Enough To Fit In My Gym Bag
I love these. My pool has buoyant foam-type dumbbells that naturally float to the surface of the water when you're using them, only making it possible to get resistance by pushing the dumbells in a downward motion. This limits the number of exercises you can do in the pool (against resistance) with this type of aqua dumbbell. That is not the case with the Aquaflex Paddles. What I like about the Aquaflex Paddles is that you are able to get resistance in all different planes of motion. That's because rather than relying on buoyancy to create single directional resistance, the Aquaflex Paddles rely on water friction to provide resistance. This means no matter what direction or exercise you are using them for, you are getting resistance.Another nice feature that I haven't seen on this type of product, is the adjustable resistance dial. When you want less tension, you simply turn the dial and open up the flaps. This makes it easier for the water to pass through the paddle, creating less resistance as you move the paddle through the water. For more resistance, you simply turn the dial the other way to close the flaps. These paddles are made of heavy-duty plastic and should last a long time. What's also nice, is that unlike the foam-type dumbbells, these paddles are flat which makes it easy to carry them in your gym bag..

Great tool for pool exercise!
I used these during some physical therapy sessions earlier this year. My therapist said it would be best to continue exercising in a pool somewhere, so I joined the YMCA and purchased these. They are great to use to build up my arms, shoulders and my core as I walk around the pool to work on my legs! I have had many people in the pool ask me about them, and now I have my wife using a set of these as well!

Great pool exercise equipment
Water displacement dumbbells are only good for exercises pushing down. The paddles use water resistance and work great for all directions of movement in water. This allows use for numerous shoulder exercises which can't be performed with water displacement "weights". They are also easily adjusted, so that resistance can be tailored to strength of the user and speed of hand movement. In addition, they are much less in volume than traditional water dumbbells, making them easier to take with you.

Helps build core strength.
I used the Nordesco Paddles in aquatic therapy treatments and liked them. My therapist recommended I purchase them as I do go to an indoor pool 4 times a week and could use them to continue my therapy by myself. I purchased the paddles but found they are slightly different that the ones I used in therapy. The adjustment of openings has a different knob to adjust the openings and it is very difficult for me to move. The paddles, once adjust work the same and I am hoping that with continued use and adjusting of the knobs they will ease up a bit.

Good for low impact
These work well for low impact workout. The slots to change the resistance are easy to use but even at full closure they don't offer a ton of resistance. But they are good for easy workout or a longer work out with low resistance. Storage is great as they are flat and don't take up much space.

Used in Aquatic Physical Therapy
I used these in aquatic physical therapy. When I returned to my usual pool they had none. I wanted them. These are identical to the ones used in PT. I put them in my bag and do the routine that I learned in PT. I like them better than foam weights.

Good arm workout
The level of intensity can be adjusted so that the resistance from the water can turned up or down.
