Rodney For President!
AMAZON PRIME VIDEOI saw this in a first-run theater when it first came out, and I immediately dug on it. Great movie, particularly for those who love the highly unique humor of Rodney's non-stop zingers. So funny, and such an amazing talent. Who else can do what he did?!The major comedic bonus in this film is, of course, Joe Pesci. Put these two characters together, and the laughs just keep on coming. So it was great to spot this (for free!) on Amazon last week, and to see it for the first time in literally decades. And while it wasn't quite as hilarious as I recalled, it was still pretty darn funny. Of his "solo" films (i.e. not counting Caddy Shack), I'd put this only behind "Back to School", which is a must-see for all true Rodney fans.Ironically, I think my favorite line was doled out by Rodney's filthy-rich, battle ax mother-in-law. (The bit is actually in the movie trailer.) She's thoroughly disgusted by his very presence, and exclaims, "Look at him! His entire body is bloodshot!" I'm guessing Rodney crafted that line!My final comment is that this film seems to best showcase the raw, real Rodney. It was him being himself with minimal scripting. And to me, that really made this film shine.4.5 STARS

Rodney's stealth masterpiece, with the essential Taylor Negron performance
Back To School is way ahead of this movie technically, but Easy Money is in many ways a more interesting film: one half Marx Brothers and one half Outer Boroughs neorealism. Rodney's extra-sweaty performance sets the tone for a cast of old-school types who would be equally at home in a John Cassavetes movie. If you are an initiate in the small but devoted cult of Taylor Negron, this is a must-see picture. He kills it as the protagonist of a subplot that holds the real heart of the movie, a warts-and-all romance steeped in good-natured Catholic frankness about vice and sex.The audience loved it, the critics yawned, and the movie is largely forgotten. But Easy Money holds up for a high tempo of solid jokes and a humanitarian outlook that has since gone extinct in Hollywood.

Great movie with real comedy
For those "in the know," P.J. O'Rourke gets a writing credit in this movie. That is probably all you need to know next to a guarantee of hilarity. The movie is hilarious and well-written until the denoument, at which moment there is a Deus ex machina moment so severe that I am still nursing my whiplash. But if you can overlook about the last five minutes, it is well worth the time invested.

One of Rodney's best.
This movie is hilarious! From the get-go, it had me rollingaround laughing! One of Rodney's best! The movie also stars Joe Pesci as Nicky the Plumber.(my first film I ever saw him in.)Some great quotes include...Nicky and Monte, at Monahans department store:"How long do you intend to browse?""Hey, that lady over there, you didn't ask her how long she intends to browse. How come you're asking us, how long we intend to browse?""You don't look like browsers.""What do browsers look like?""Maybe I'm half-browser.""On his father's side."Nicky and Monte, upstairs, with the board of directors ofMonahans. Monte, has just been offered a top job, asFashion Consultant, and Nicky says:"No no, take the job, take the job. The first thing we'll dois fire that broad downstairs, who stopped us from browsing."Nicky, explaining to Monte, how to get to New York Harborfrom Florida:"You steam north up the Atlantic, west into the Hudson...you come to the statue of that broad, you hang a left...."Monte, in his basement with his poker buddies, after dinner with his family:"So what did you tell her today.""I said her perfume was driving me crazy. I said you'd think I married Rose to get to you...My mother-in-law...For years I wouldn't kiss her face-I ended up kissing her ass!"Hilarious! A must see!

One of the funniest movies ever made. Ever! "Nicky it's wrong!
Julio asks "now, can I call you dad? LOL This movie is non stop funny. Taylor Negron as Julio should have had his own film. No Superbad is not as funny as this movie. Few are. As a warning, it is old school. Joe Pesci is at his best as Nicky Cerone. Come on the plot is simple but perfect. No sin he gets the cash. Taylor Negron as Julio in the I am the man scene kills! OMG! "Come down I am the man I'm bad" Watch it!
