Great for an in counter
After seven years of reliable service from our drawer microwave, we decided it was time for an upgrade. One feature that immediately caught our attention with the new model is the innovative design where the buttons extend out and face upwards, a significant improvement from our previous unit where they were located on the side. This not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also offers added convenience in operation. We're excited to see how this upgrade will further enhance our kitchen experience. Very convenient to have in the island. Very fast shipment, and easy delivery.

Works well if you need a recessed microwave
Bought to replace an earlier Sharp model that no longer worked (keypad failure).Similar dimensions allowed replacement without alteration of cabinet cut out.Only downside is the price. I guess that there is novelty and "coolness" of a microwave that is recessed into a lower cabinet, but I don't know if this all is worth an extra $1000 more than a boring countertop model. In the end, it was for us, since we did not have to have the cabinet altered.

Coolest microwave ever!
I just bought a house with no microwave. I was looking for an inexpensive one but saw a MICROWAVE IN A DRAWER and knew it was perfect for the space. I had a carpenter adjust the existing counter so it fits perfectly. It's a super convenient height (no reaching overhead) and doesn't take up space on the counter. It opens quite easily for me. There were reviews saying it was difficult to use the control panel. I've only had it a few days but have not had any issues. I would have liked if it included a glass turning plate attached with it but it may heat evenly without that.

Nice features; defect with lawsuit - Do not buy - update
I like the overall design. It installed easily. I especially liked the tilting control panel that made it easy to use no matter what your height. That said...It doesn't last (less than 2 years). There is some sort of "arcing" defect that manifests over time. Microwaves arcing? Burning Electrical smell? Is it s fire hazard? I'm not a technical person, but it doesn't sound safe to me.Once it occurred, I of course called the number listed on the materials. Welcome to Kafka-ville. I was asked to fill out their lawsuit claim form and submit documentation. Also, they then sent out someone to look at the microwave and take photos. Ok, not a problem. Now, it has been ~3 months and they will not let me know what will be done about it. Not denying my warranty claim, just "No decision". Thus, my options are to continue to wait with no microwave, or just give up and buy a new one. Given the cost, I continue to wait.I do hear that ULINE makes a comparable microwave. Also, unlike other brands of drawer microwave, this one is not manufactured by Sharp and thus shouldn't suffer from the same defect. If their support and the defect get fixed, then this is an awesome microwave. Until then, you are taking a bet with your money (and I wonder, with your health and welfare).03-07-2021Update: Well, Sharp finally made a decision to replace my drawer microwave and called me to let me know. Great! The issue is resolved and a replacement will be sent in 7 to 10 days. Today, I am now assuming that they meant 7 to 10 business days....or longer. I will call them again tomorrow as it is now going on the third week and there has been no subsequent communication. (Each time I call, they ask for and confirm my email address, my phone number, etc. The front line folks are very pleasant as they follow the script.)07/07/2024So far, so good. The microwave is working well! Now that I have a unit without the arcing issue, I once again really like the microwave. So good to have the counter space (no microwave sitting on counter) and to have a good oven vent (no hard to reach microwave about the stove with a wimpy recirculating fan).

It Fits Into Cabinet of 7-Year-Old Replaced Unit
We remodeled our kitchen in 2015. The Sharp microwave starting to make a loud buzzing noise and wouldn't heat food. Called an appliance repair shop that Sharp recommended. It would have been a minimum of $500 to fix our old unit.I shopped around and was pleasantly surprised to find that Sharp made the same model replacement unit. Slid the old unit out, unplugged it, rinse and repeat with new unit. Even uses the same screw holes for mounting. If you are able to lift these units (not that heavy) you can easily replace it without paying installation fees.

I love this microwave
I love this microwave. It looks great and functions just like a microwave should! And because I purchase items based on pictures I figured I should add my own. :)Side note: this is the 24" microwave. When I ordered my cabinets I ordered a 30" cabinet and a 15" cabinet (I didn't really pay attention to the sizes..) to make up my island. When the cabinets got here the cabinet installer asked why I ordered the smaller microwave. I told them I thought they were standard sizes and never even looked. They were going to custom fit the 24" microwave into the 30" cabinet (because it was going to be like $400 between paying shipping back and ordering the bigger size) but it turned out there was a defect in the cabinet and they had to send it back! Worked out to my benefit because they replaced it with two 24" cabinets that required no additional modifications for the microwave. Moral of the story: make sure you order the right one!
