Works Pretty Good
I've been using it to trade between my Pokemon Sapphire and Fire Red versions between SPs and it's been working well enough. I read other reviews and have been very careful when inserting and removing the cables as to not break that connector part on the consoles and I've had no trouble as far as that's concerned.I don't know if it's just me, but I found the cable to a be a bit finicky. When I want to trade, sometimes the cable doesn't work initially, and I have to disconnect and switch the connectors between the consoles. And sometimes it's as simple as switching which console is the host in-game, like which one talks to the host lady first. It just takes some work to even get a trade going. I don't know if it's user error or the cable, but I got what I wanted out of it.

Does Not Work for Trading Pokemon
It looks like this product is pretty hit or miss when looking at the reviews, here are some things to note:1) The male ends of the connectors are slightly large so they fit EXTREMELY tight and risk breaking your Gameboy (which are difficult to replace now days).2) The cable itself is very low quality and feels like its made out of extremely cheap rubber and wires.3) I speak for myself with this point, but my cable did not actually work at all when attempting to trade Pokemon. It seemed like one device would "connect" and the other would fail. At first I thought this was because of a device failure, so I switched gameboys and started using two new Gameboy Advance SP's, and the same issue occurred. Every time I would attempt a trade it seemed like at random one device would "connect" and the other would fail, so there is a confirmed issue with the cable.Overall, buyer beware. It seems like some people here have the cable working just fine, but many others don't. I would say don't risk your time and money and pitch in a few extra bucks to get a cable that does work.

Works well.
I like playing Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. I bought this link cable in order to do trades between all of the gen 3 games as well as gen 1 remakes so that I could complete the Pokédex for these generations. Having this link cable has made it possible to have my dream come true.

VERY TIGHT FIT, but works with GBA and SP
like most of the reviews say, its a very tight fit. but so long as you slowly wiggle it in and slowly wiggle it out it works. i thought it didnt work at first but that was because i hadnt gotten the cable plugged all the way in.all that said, i was able to trade pokemon from my GBA with pokemon fire red to my SP with a flash cart loaded with another copy of fire red successfully. so it should work GBA to GBA and GBA to SP or vice versa.it should be noted that this cable has the little nub on the top and the GBC cable wont have the nub, so if youre looking to use this cable to link between GBC to GBA, it wont work. i accidently bought a link cable that was only meant for GBC and plugged it into my GBA and SP and it didnt work and nothing happened.

Amazing
After going through some boxes recently I stumbled across a couple of my old Gameboys including two of my GameBoy Colors and two GameBoy Advance SPs and was completely overcome with nostalgic joy. I was so happy that I would be able to share these two amazing creations with my son(s) and play many of the games I used to love when I was younger with them. Shortly after charging them and getting them all set up, I went to look for my old cable and was unable to locate the item. I called up several GameStops and other gaming stores in my area but much to my dismay, they carried no such item any longer as the product itself was closing in on 20 years old....drat!The thought came to me to look online, so I checked out eBay and could only find this item for around $50 at the time which was WAY TOO MUCH for me. I browsed Amazon and this product came right up for it's amazing low price, I ordered it and received the product within a couple days. My children and I have been pounding out The Legend of Zelda multiplayer quite often since then and several other days and it's been an amazing experience. Thank you for this great product!

¡IT WORKS!
First, I was very skeptical about this purchase, but for 7$ it was worth the risk and thank God I did it. The cable is really good, and works. I've used it for about 4 o 5 times successfully with no problem at all, it looks durable and strong enough. DON'T pay attetion to the bad reviews, most of the people doesn't know what they are buying. If you are going to trade between two GAMEBOY COLOR GAMES, you will need a GAMEBOY COLOR TRADE CABLE, it doesn't matter if you are using and Advance console or Advance SP console, the cable you'll need will depend of the game where you wanna do the trade. On the other hand, If you wanna trade between two GAMEBOY ADVANCE pokemon games, you will need a GAMEBOY ADVANCE TRADE CABLE. I hope you will find this information useful and enjoy the purchase like I did. BTW I traded between an Original Emerald catridge and an EZ Flash Omega catridge with a Pokemon game in it...
