We purchased two. Very sturdy and easy to use. Looks great on the house.

Mounted about 4 feet up on the wall means no more bending over to reel in the hose.The pivot means that I can reel the hose back in easily no matter where in the yard I used it. In every way I would want to evaluate it, the operation is smooth and easy.Generally seems well built. I misjudged the construction from the pictures on Amazon. I thought the spokes were solid round bars. The spool sides are actually deeply stamped, fairly heavy gauge sheet metal. Seems plenty sturdy.I would have preferred a more neutral color, but didn't care for certain aspects of the models that weren't red. I'd minus 1/4 star for that if I could. But, the color has grown on me.A bit pricey compared to the big box hose-in-a-plastic-box job that I had before. Considering that I like it about 1000 times better than the old plastic box, it was worth the price. It addressed all of the things I disliked about the old unit.I tend to be frugal, but will pay reasonably for value. Now that I have first hand experience with this hose reel, I'm considering buying another.

I have gone through several of the rigid plastic hose reels that can be mounted on a wall and all of them, eventually suffered the same fates: 1) portions of the plastic frame specifically where they are mounted to a wall and can be readily lifted and removed cracked or broke; 2) the connections where the inlet hose from faucet to the hose reel popped out or failed; or 3) the hose connection to the reel would leak.Having researched a number of reels and looked at some in garden supply stores, I bought this Liberty reel despite one or more negative reviews. I always read those with a grain of salt much like the rave reviews, but this reel has been wonderful. It is strong, it is very well made, it swivels a full 90 degrees and locks in place, it allows pulling the hose out without hearing or causing a plastic reel to crack or break and it is eye-catching and attractive. It may be expensive, but you do get what you pay for

We have had this hose reel for about three years now and it is still in great shape and works beautifully. It has held up very well to the bright California sun and heat. The paint is still shiny and new looking and the reel feeds hose out just as smoothly as that first time. I love this hose reel and it’s way better than any ground version I’ve seen. Having the hose on the wall keeps it up and out of the way and keeps leaves and dirt from accumulating underneath it. It dries better and stays cleaner and is comfortable to reel back up without leaning way down low and straining your back. I love this thing. I just want to know… do they make a replacement handle? After a few years in the sun, the rubber has split and it’s just not going to work anymore. If they don’t make a replacement I’m not sure what I’ll do, because this thing is screwed into my wall so it’s not like I’m going to get a new one. So, as much as I love it, I would say it’s an issue if it ever breaks because it’s a wall mount and you’ll leave big holes behind if you have to take it down, and patching houses is definitely a pain.

Beautiful sturdy (we've had it up a couple of months) hose reel. It looks very attractive mounted on the side of the house. We purchased two of them, one for the front and one for the back. We love the shelf on top. It's perfect for a watering can and a hose nozzle or whatever you want to put on it. We have a 100 foot THICK hose on the one on the back yard, and it is very tight when completely wound up, so we have to ensure that all the water pressure is released, but that's a minor inconvenience.

I love the way it looks on the house. It is large and needs space around it to swivel and roll up. The instructions are good enough for someone that can assemble it to assemble it quickly. I like the shelf addition as well. This is in the backyard for me. I don’t have a country style home so the red sticks out but not horribly. I will not be buying one for the front of my house. If they had this specific one in black, yes. Even grey. Fire truck red isn’t the look I am going for.

The part where the hose comes into the reel tries to rotate and ends up pinching the supply hose. So you have to hold the supply hose on one side and work the reel handle on the other, which puts your face right at the spinning reel. Also, the pin where the reel swivels needs to be lubricated often or it freezes up.
