Absolutely brilliant - we play it when the kids have gone to bed!
We surprised our children with a Switch for Christmas and bought this game to go alongside it. We were Switch newbies so didn’t really know what games to plump for; our boys have always loved LEGO games so we went for this one and have not been disappointed. They got straight into the game and were able to pick up the controls easily, we felt a little bit left out watching them as we quickly realised it was a little bit like a child friendly version of Grand Theft Auto. Essentially you start off as Chase McCain who is a police officer and you receive calls to give you missions to complete, you are able to roam freely around the City and just like GTA you are able to ‘borrow’ cars from people and follow maps to get to your destination. The game is divided into Chapters and you take on various disguises to complete missions, as with other games you also collect studs and bricks to earn different rewards in the game. The fact that it is a free world to explore means that the game can go on for as long as you want and to achieve all of the goals/find all of the bricks will definitely take a while so it is great value for money. The characters are all really child friendly and our children recognise some of the minifigures from their sets which they were impressed with!We actually felt like we were missing out on the game so started our own game that we play after they’ve gone to bed!

Fantastic Game!
I purchased this for my nephew. However, I've played this on the Xbox with my son and also on my own. It's a kid friendly GTA type open world game of missions and side missions. A lot of slapstick silly humour. The storyline is fun and lots of stuff kids (and big kids) find amusing. My favourite lego game my far. To be honest, probably one of the best games I've actually played in the past few years!

A really fun game that suffers too many software crashes.
Great Lego game that was originally released on the Wii U, the switch port is good, and the game is both funny and fun to play. There is a lot to do and for the most part it is great fun, however, it does suffer from freezing and unexpected software crashes. It takes a really long time to load or reload after a crash. It is hard to dislike this game despite the frustrations, and I have to recommend it positively with all its faults and all. You will most probably enjoy this game, if you are a fan of Lego games, and at times you will feel the need to swear at it, but it has so much charm that I have bought two copies of it and gifted one. It is a couple of updates away from being awesome, but sadly those updates will never come. It his a hidden gem of a game that is slightly marred by technical restraints and over ambition. The switch version has lots of hidden Mario references which are fun to find, and there is so much to do and discover in the game that, a game that is essentially 12 years old now, that at this price point it can only be described as a bargain but flawed classic.

It lego what not to love
I love the lego games. This is great, as you progress through the game you unlock different characters and outfits my favourite is the robber as you can break into doors etc with his crowbar. Lovely scenery and great vehicles from cars to helicopters. You start as chase the copper and as you getter further you unlock the characters from the levels you complete to use in free play mode. I have this nintendo switch and also ps4. The switch version I got so i could play a bit when I go to bed or on the go.

Great game, occasional faults
This is another great game for Nintendo Switch. I think another reviewer mentioned that the software can crash. I too have experienced this a number of times. But this has not dampened my enjoyment of the game. There’s several levels and mini games inside the game. Along with free play opportunities and numerous choices of vehicles to drive and fly. Including trains, helicopters, boats, lorries and cars. All adding to more enjoyment of this game.

Great game for all
Purchased for my sons birthday and we have both enjoyed playing it.Great game for kids and adults alike, funny how we both have such different gaming types. He’s a rush to the end and complete it as soon as we can, I’m a do every challenge collect all the coins type (impossible with Lego games apparently as coins/studs respawn)Great little game for all

Underrated. Timeless. Masterpiece.
At the time of this review, this game is technically 7 years old, having started its legacy on the Wii U. That first version was the most impressive, featuring references to Super Mario’s Star man, piranha and Bullet Bills. These have been replaced, sadly, by more crime-and-punishment centred icons. What remains is a 99% faithful reproduction of the Wii U’s joyous Lego exclusive. What remains now and competes in a more fierce arena, is a mini and family friendly sandbox city-based adventure game. Think of it as GTA for people who appreciate laughter, rainbows and cuteness above blood , guns and aggression. Those extra missions are plentiful, the amount of items to collect is vast and the variations between different parts of the city means that the landscape seldom feels repetitive. It is inevitable that games like this may cease to exist due to the success of ‘the paywall generation’. But when they make them this good. They last the distance.100% recommended
