Works great; easy to use
Using this to distill water for a humidifier (and now I'll be using it for topping off radiators in our cars!). Seems to do the job very well - no sign of sediment in the humidifier or the jugs I store the water in. The instructions tell you to use a special cleaner (included!) to cleaner sediment from the distiller but we have hard water with silica that can't be filtered out so I've been wiping out the water chamber after each use. If it dries before I get to it, I put just a little water in and the sediment dissolves and I wipe it all out with a clean rag or paper towel. Don't know if this is a "recommended" technique, but the stainless chamber is still nice and clean after a few dozen distillations.

Money Saver!!!! Pays for itself within 2 months!
Save a LOT of money with this! My husband has an oxygen concentrator and it's critical to use distilled water in it. Vaporizers also last forever if you use distilled water. If you iron some of the clothes, use distilled water so the iron doesn't clog up. Use a steamer for wrinkles? Same thing to use distilled water. We got ours in 2023. In 2025, I can happily tell you it's running flawlessly. It can do a gallon in about 2 hours, so several runs a day. I use it twice a day as a neighbor has an oxygen concentrator too, so she brings me empty cleaned out jugs to refill. It does require an actual level spot to operate right. I have an old baking cabinet that had the footing replaced due to water damage and it's a little off, so the unit won't run right on it.Without this machine, I'd require 1 gallon a day of distilled water. Last time I looked, that's 1.65 a day. Thats 49.50 a month! 594$ a year!

Great unit if your filter is sized and placed correctly!
Had one of these units that performed flawlessly until one day it started spewing steam and water with the lid lifting being the cause of the leakage.I bought another one because for what I paid for it and how much I used it every day, I felt like I had more than gotten my money's worth. I liked the first unit so much that I bought a second one. Unfortunately after 3 uses, this one started doing the same thing. After much trial and error of drying it out good, with the same results, I did other troubleshooting. Gasket was fine and there was nothing I could see that should be causing it.I went to remove the wet filter as I was going to return this one for a refund. I barely got the filter out because I had it folded over in its slot. Then it hit me this might be the problem. Too much pressure buildup by the folded filter. I unfolded it and ran a small batch of water. It performed as it should have and as it did the first few times. We then ran a full unit of water and it also ran successfully. So if anyone is having leaking water out of the top, this might be a good fix. I took away one star because I feel like the company specifying better how the filter is supposed to be placed in the slot and also the appropriate replacement filter for use in their unit might be super important based on my experiences. Sadly I may have thrown out a perfectly good unit because I did not understand how important the filter placement and type could be. If I missed this info in the instructions, I apologize to the company and will gladly revise my review. However, I did read through the instructions for the first unit I bought and did not see this information. Having had one of these before, I did not read the instructions on the second unit.I find this unit very easy to use, lightweight enough yet sturdy. The stainless is easy to clean, I use a little white vinegar in the bottom - let it sit for a short bit (hr or so) and then wash/rinse out.I like the switch that was added to turn the unit off and on. Seems to be useful instead of unplugging to turn the unit off. There's usually a good bit of burned solids in the bottom of my unit if I let it run until it turns off. I usually know when to turn off the unit by looking at the pitcher fullness, and I turn it off with about 1/2" water left in the unit which makes cleaning it easier. This machine has saved me a lot of money and has freed me from having to lug gallons of store bought distilled water. As for the flavor, I know this might seem counter productive, but I pour my distilled water from the pitcher to another (old plastic style Rubbermaid ivory colored with white lid) pitcher. I leave the lid off and the pitcher sits on the kitchen table in the sun for a day prior to using it. The flavor is great. No burned or distilled "flavor".If I hadn't had the filter issue, I would definitely have given this product 5 stars.

Very pleased.
Product performs very well. We have very hard water, and have had to purchase distilled water for humidifiers, aquarium, and coffee maker. This product will produce 1 gallon in about 3 hours and 40 minutes. It is rated for 750 watts, so energy cost for us is about 30 cents per gallon produced, so this should pay for itself in a few months.Since our water is extremely hard, there is a lot of minerals stuck to the bottom after use. A little hot water and some Lemishine will dissolve the minerals and wash completely out.The fan is somewhat noisy, but I leave this in the kitchen where the noise does not bother us. It does give off approximately 750 watts, so in the winter it will help with heating, but in the summer it would be a good idea to run it outside the cooled area of the house.Overall, I am very pleased with the product.

Easy to use, easy to clean
I bought this distiller ages ago & use it 2-3 times a month, for use in my CPAP machine. It is pretty quiet compared to the old one I had, fills the gallon jug in about 3 hours (though usually I set it & forget it for the day). I do use a bit more vinegar to clean it than their recommended amount but the sludge washes out easily. The water is crystal clear & has no odor or flavor & I hardly ever need to clean the CPAP reservoir.

No temperature controls on this model.
No temperature controls or timers but, what did you expect at this price point. It does the job and that is what counts. If you have hard water don't run it completely dry. This will cut way down on the mineral buildup.
