Miracle worker
The Thermocell changed our outdoor experience. As long as we have plenty of the Thermocell refills I don't have to worry about my grandchildren, my family being eaten alive by pesky mosquitoes. These refills last for hours. I highly recommend it and will continue to buy it. You can place the thermacell anywhere and it's guaranteed to work. Since we've had these we no longer get bitten by mosquitoes.

Works amazingly well
I have always reacted strongly to bug bites. Mosquitos and other bitey bugs love me, and I get big reactions to their bites. Not a great combination, especially for someone who lives in a very buggy area in the Desert Southwest.I've tried lots of various bug deterrents, but Thermacell is the first one that has actually made a huge difference in my outdoor experiences. It takes a few minutes to warm up and create a barrier, so usually my husband takes it out and sets it up before we plan to go out. There is a detectable scent - I don't find it either pleasant or unpleasant, but it's there. But this thing works. Before we started using Thermacell, my daughter and I were getting dozens of bites, and were absolutely miserable. After we started using Thermacell, the bites went to near-zero.The refills are very easy to use, and they last an acceptable period of time. If we forget and leave one out overnight, we'll have to replace the refill, but if we use it only when we are outside, it lasts a while.

One strike
Second year for these and I’ve been swearing by them. However, I was THREE feet away from the core unit tonight and a mosquito landed on my freaking jacked bicep and I had to old school swat that blood sucking heifer. Maybe I got a bad cell? Either way, ‘squita ia dead and I dodged a bite. One strike thermacell. One strike.

Work well so far
Mosquitoes in Alabama are pretty bad this year due to all the rain. Our back porch is about 8x12 and enclosed on three sides. Two sides brick and one side a lattice partition. We do get some breeze, but so far the mosquitoes are repelled. Charge holds well and the repellent canister has lasted over two months.

New screw on top the best!
Love the rechargeable/refillable Thermacell. Have 2. The newest refills are the best; the screw off too is way better than the old pop-off-top. On the old version if you break off the top of the wick you are screwed!

Refrils DO not last as long as they claim, disappointed in false advertisement!
I purchased this at Walmart for way less than here and the reason that I am writing a review here is because the pod that comes included with it when you purchase is probably good for about two hours, NOT eight hours like it claims. The ingredients that repels the mosquitoes is a chemical that works, it just need to be honest on how long the pods last. I measured how long it lasted for two hours the one that said eight hours. Now I am currently testing how long does the 40 hour is supposed to last. The liquid looks double on the pod but the pod is not any bigger. Now does it work? I say YES! for us we are in a backyard and we have a ton of mosquitoes so it did help WHILE IT LASTED.
